A deadly film?
I was intrigued by the short story "Traps" by Friedrich Durrenmatt. I have a friend who is a film producer, and considered recommending "Traps" as a project. Upon doing some research, I found that HBO had undertaken this venture in 1982 with the TV movie "The Deadly Game". Copies are rare, and I was fortunate to locate one through one of your sellers. HBO did a credible job with a respected and experienced cast, but detracted from the overall quality of the film by changing the original enigmatic ending.
On the other hand, the original ending probably presented some significant problems with respect to making a commercially viable film. I recommend a reading of the original short story. First, to see if the reader can discern Mr. Durrenmatt's cryptic "message". Second, to form an opinion as to whether or not it would make a worthwhile film project.
