Deadliest Catch - Season One (DVD, 2007, 5-Disc Set)

Because I watch this show I probably know more about crab fishing than I care to admit. My husband and I really enjoy this show and never miss an episode. The first episode we ever saw was "Man Overboard" from season one. Wow. It was quite a sobering look at what the Alaskan crab fisherman endure to bring us crab. I couldn't get enough of Deadliest Catch from then on. This is TRUE reality TV!

I became a big fan of the Deadliest Catch last year, and hadn't seen the first season when it originally aired on the Discovery Channel. By purchasing this set I was able to see all the episodes I had missed. Watching them straight through, and without commercials is a real plus!

It took me no time to watch the entire boxed set. One of the best sets I have ever watched. I am thoroughly excited to see the next season which hits stores Oct. 16th- Can't Wait!

I bought this DVD because I loved watching the Deadliest Catch on television, and I had not seen Season One. This was better than I expected. Great video action, informative and a learning experience. Fast paced, and very interesting. I watched the whole season in one sitting. Too good to turn it off!

I would seriously recommend this set to anyone. It's very exciting and intense and you will certainly be glued to the television set. The danger aspect is incredible and I would compare it to a gripping movie, suspense wise. You may end up entertaining the notion that you, yourself, could go do this job but I've decided that I would have no chance. As strong as I am metally and physically I know that I wouldn't be able to work in these conditions for 18-24 hours a day. These guys are amazing and
this box set is worth every penny.You will find yourself watching it more than once for sure :-)

I sooooooooooooooo enjoy this program!!!!!!!!!!! I am amazed at the teamwork between these men. They are normal everyday people, just raising families, as most of us are. As well the ladies on the boats with there contributions. The Moms at home raising the children, taking care of the day to day. It's real life, it's not offensive, I wish the language were a little better but if it were me, I probably wouldn't choose any better phrases myself. HA!!!GOD BLESS, MITZI (Abagalesmommy)

I bought this season one series after getting hooked on it watching it on the Discovery Channel during the 2nd season. I was immediately impressed taken back by what this life brings and the danger that comes with it. It has really opened my eyes to how lucky we have it in our every day jobs. The first series is great and it will move you. There are highs and lows and if you don't cry after watching this then you are not human. My only complaint is that the series was not longer than it was. I got this box set and my wife and I had it watched in 3 days. Time flys when you are watching a GREAT show. Overall, this has got to be one of the greatest shows on earth and I can only hope that everyone gets a chance to watch it. I'd recommend that everyone needs to own this first series and I can promise you that it will not let you down. After watching this you will not be able to wait to purchase the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and then hope that they continue to produce the show. Don't just take it from me; buy it, watch it and be moved by it. You will not be disapointed!

The 'Deadliest Catch' has caught on quickly and the 1st season series on DVD will become a collectors item. The progress and techniques learned by the photo-journalists throughout the first year shows the developement of the series and leads right into the second year. After the first year, you're hooked! It's a great adventure series that really makes you feel that you're actually there.

WE LOVE THIS PROGRAM AND MISSED A FEW OF THE FIRST COUPLE OF SEASONS,SO HAD TO HAVE THEM. WE WILL BE WATCHING SOME OF THEM TWICE AS THEY ARE VERY EXCITING!

I'm not exactly sure why I Love Deadliest Catch, perhaps because this is an amazingly stressful, dangerous job that makes my job & my life look easy by comparison? Every show is a new Exciting Adventure between the Brutal Bering Sea, trying to fish & find the Crab, the interactions between the fishermen, some of the Unique, Distinct Characters & Personalities are so entertaining!
EDGAR & Phil you are my favorites!! SIG I wish you would lighten up on Edgar & your crew ~Have a Heart~ sometimes. I would Love to see the Scottish Cook GORDON RAMSAY from Hell's Kitchen & Kitchen Nightmares (which is also one of my favorite shows) try a Bering Sea Crab trip "just once" with these super tough men, how Interesting would that be!!! I hope this Series Runs for a Very, very Long time, Outstanding Entertainment!!!

Reality Television scores a gold star with these men who risk their lives for a shot at the American Dream. The cinematography and directing is top notch.

It's amazing to watch these men risk their lives by working in the deadliest occupation in the world.

My Fiance and I watched it every time it come on or when there's a new episode. I was draw to it because of the intense work that they do during all types of weather and curious of how much they'll catch. I couln't even image doing something like that. It takes a strong man/woman to do a job like that not only by strength but emotionally considering most have a loved one who they are gone from for awhile. My fiance has been a lobster man his whole life and is connected to the sea, and knowing that it's the deadliest job out there he has always wanted to do it. He loves having his adrenaline* go, plus he's a hard worker and strong person. He decided to go fishing on a 150ft boat to catch white fish, squid and be over 30-50 or so miles out at sea. Theres been times where hes worked 30 hours straight and slept for 3 hours. They got caught in a storm that nearly threw him over board, but he's coming come soon after the 3 weeks of being out. I thought buying it would make him happy. :D

This is going to be a Christmas gift for my daughter. She didn't see season one, so this is perfect. It's sealed and ready to be wrapped

Wow, what an exciting show. I saw this show on the discoery channel and was so interested that I wanted to buy the first two seasons just to get caught up on what was going on. Once I put on the first episode I was hooked and had to watch the whole series in one shot.

My husband and I don't have cable, but caught this show a few times while traveling. We got so sucked in we're buying the DVDs. Incredibly well shot, unlike anything else you'll see. They also have great stories, really pull you in. This show is completely addicting!

I purchased this video series for my father who is a World War II veteran. He does not have cable so is unable to view this show on TV. As a signalman on a Coast Guard frigate in the Aleutian Islands during the war, he was so intrigued by the location of the filming. Thus, with eager anticipation he has been watching the videos. The videos are entertaining and present beautiful scenery of this part of the globe. The story line is very exciting and dramatic so most bases are covered in the content of the videos. If one is a sea-lover, boat-lover and/or adventure-lover this series is for you. You are caught up in the story and want to keep watching and watching and watching.

Really enjoyable series showing the true grit of endurance in men who aren't afraid to battle the elements for a living! Great to watch and re-watch over and over!

This is season one of the hit Discovery show Deadliest Catch. Anyone who has seen it can tell you that it is a must have for any Deadliest Catch fan! If you haven't seen the first season, but want to have all the dvd's; don't worry about wasting your money. It's definitely a good buy. So go ahead, make sure your collection is complete.
