at first it seems to go well. then the mutilated body of a werepanther is found in the parking lot of the bar where sookie works. the vicitm is someone she knows so she feels completted to discover who human or other wise did the deed.

1. this book feels like a "bridge" as it sets up a whole bunch of story lines but gives no answers.
2. there is a murder and poor jason is a suspect for all of 10 seconds. amazing every time a murder happens they always look at poor jason.
3. we move forward with eric and sookie. SLOWLY. it's enough to make you scream "i want more!"


it's a very good book, my only complaint: TOO SHORT.............I WANT MORE!

I have read all the books and they are really hard to put down. I like how they keep you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book to come out!

I read the first book of the Sookie Stackhouse series and could NOT put them down. This is the best series I've ever read and I'm an avid fiction reader. This book was a little more dark than the rest and more dramatic because Sookie is growing up and learning a lot about life and family. I do recommend to really enjoy this book you should read the other 8 books in the series. It only took me 2 months to read all nine books and that was with working and still doing most of the cleaning, ;-). The characters will draw you in and Charlaine Harris' writing makes really feel that you are there. I've also read her Harper Connelly series of 3 books and they are also great but nothing beats the Sookie Stackhouse series. Hope you enjoy!

Ms Harris keeps up her end again, taking us back to BonTemps and our favorite heroine Sookie Stackhouse. This time around, Eric has a couple of things up his sleeve, and Sookie is the last to know!

It was the latest in Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stachhouse novels and I enjoyed them all. Highly recommend all of Charlaine Harris' books for any vampire loving readers or even just Supes fans.

Dead and Gone is up to Charlaine Harris's usual standards when it comes to the Sookie Stackhouse novels. It was a riveting read that I could hardly put down. As usual Sookie finds herself caught in the middle of conflicts in the supernatural world that should really have nothing to do with her. Once one problem gets resolved two or three more pop up and yet all get nicely resolved by the end. Fans of Sookie and True Blood will love this book. One of the great things about these books, this one included, is that while there is a whole mythos being built up as you go along through the books, you can actually pick up an individual book in the middle or end of the series and still get a good read. Ms Harris does an excellent job of containing the stories individually within each book and never leaves issues unresolved and leaving her fans wanting for the next book. Don't get me wrong, as a fan I AM wanting the next book but I don't have to worry about finding out what's going to happen before it comes out. Two thumbs up.

If you love all the other books, then you know you just want to keep reading and this book in no different. This is a great addition to the rest of the true blood books.

Good book, can't wait for the next one to come out in May 2010. Though I wished she would've just ended up with Bill, but that's my opinion.

I am a teacher and going to teach elem. level children about Edgar Allan Poe and thought this would be a great introduction.

I HAVE READ THE WHOLE SOUTHERN VAMPIRE SERIES BY CHARLAINE HARRIS- I LOVE ALL OF THEM BUT THE FIRST AND THE 8TH AND 9TH I THINK ARE THE BEST. I RECOMMEND YOU READ THEM IN ORDER TO GET THE WHOLE PICTURE BUT I LOVED THEM. I'VE NEVER BEEN MUCH OF A READER AND THESE BOOKS ESPECIALLY THIS ONE I READ IN ONE NIGHT. THEY ARE ADDICTING!!!! I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE ! HER BOOKS ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE TRUE BLOOD SERIES ON HBO.

Book 9 of Sookie Stackhouse installment. Not as good as the previous books and leaves a lot of questions. Kind of a disappointment to read because it is so short. I finished the entire book in less that 3 hours.

I am a fan of the HBO show True Blood and began reading the book series by Charlaine Harris on which the show is based and now love the books even more than the show. Ms. Harris creates this fascinating world of creatures that continues to surprise. This 9th book was no different. It was a great read from beginning to end and I highly recommend the entire series.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole series of Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. The simple life of a small town waitress with telepathic abilities whose life is turned upside down by all sorts of supernatural creatures and occurences has been a treat to encounter. One can only imagine how Sookie's life will change even more as time goes on. After reading this current novel in the series I am hoping that Charlaine will grant us yet another chance to share in Sookie's exploits. Besides Eric and Sookie just have to...well if you have read the series you know.

A great book that really leaves you hanging. I can't wait until the next one come out in the series.

Awesome book! I can't wait for the next one. Sookie Stackhouse is funny, clever, smart and very intuitive. Will leave you laughing, and on the edge of your seat the whole time. If you like vampires, supernatural creatures, love triangles and witty banter, then this book is for you.

Spoiler ALERT!!!! I loved this book as I do all of the sookie series. This book was great because I loved the fact that sookie and eric are getting closer but I wish she would know that its not just the bond between them. I didnt like that she is starting to have more interest in bill again, hopefully it is just a "friend" like interest. I do like that this book she finally realized it was a HUGE mistake to send Quinn away and I am still hoping that they will get back together. I hope that in the next book we get to find out what eric and her marraige is really about and I REALLY want to know the reason he didnt come to save her when she was getting hurt and instead bill was there (ugh). But all and all this is a great book and I HATE to have to wait until May 2010 to read the next book...Cant wait!!!
