at first it seems to go well. then the mutilated body of a werepanther is found in the parking lot of the bar where sookie works. the vicitm is someone she knows so she feels completted to discover who human or other wise did the deed.

1. this book feels like a "bridge" as it sets up a whole bunch of story lines but gives no answers.
2. there is a murder and poor jason is a suspect for all of 10 seconds. amazing every time a murder happens they always look at poor jason.
3. we move forward with eric and sookie. SLOWLY. it's enough to make you scream "i want more!"


it's a very good book, my only complaint: TOO SHORT.............I WANT MORE!

I have read all the books and they are really hard to put down. I like how they keep you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book to come out!

I read the first book of the Sookie Stackhouse series and could NOT put them down. This is the best series I've ever read and I'm an avid fiction reader. This book was a little more dark than the rest and more dramatic because Sookie is growing up and learning a lot about life and family. I do recommend to really enjoy this book you should read the other 8 books in the series. It only took me 2 months to read all nine books and that was with working and still doing most of the cleaning, ;-). The characters will draw you in and Charlaine Harris' writing makes really feel that you are there. I've also read her Harper Connelly series of 3 books and they are also great but nothing beats the Sookie Stackhouse series. Hope you enjoy!

Ms Harris keeps up her end again, taking us back to BonTemps and our favorite heroine Sookie Stackhouse. This time around, Eric has a couple of things up his sleeve, and Sookie is the last to know!

The first 8 books were a little better, but for someone like me who can't get enough "TRUE BLOOD" it was great. couldn't put it down. Must read for fans.

Another truly awesome book in the True Blood series! A must read! It won't let you down and you will be left in suspense for the next book in this series!

Another great book in a series of good books by Charlaine Harris. Many characters and many story lines lead to interesting reading. I will
continue to follow the characters when the next books come out.

It was the latest in Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stachhouse novels and I enjoyed them all. Highly recommend all of Charlaine Harris' books for any vampire loving readers or even just Supes fans.

Dead and Gone is up to Charlaine Harris's usual standards when it comes to the Sookie Stackhouse novels. It was a riveting read that I could hardly put down. As usual Sookie finds herself caught in the middle of conflicts in the supernatural world that should really have nothing to do with her. Once one problem gets resolved two or three more pop up and yet all get nicely resolved by the end. Fans of Sookie and True Blood will love this book. One of the great things about these books, this one included, is that while there is a whole mythos being built up as you go along through the books, you can actually pick up an individual book in the middle or end of the series and still get a good read. Ms Harris does an excellent job of containing the stories individually within each book and never leaves issues unresolved and leaving her fans wanting for the next book. Don't get me wrong, as a fan I AM wanting the next book but I don't have to worry about finding out what's going to happen before it comes out. Two thumbs up.

If you love all the other books, then you know you just want to keep reading and this book in no different. This is a great addition to the rest of the true blood books.

I am a teacher and going to teach elem. level children about Edgar Allan Poe and thought this would be a great introduction.

I HAVE READ THE WHOLE SOUTHERN VAMPIRE SERIES BY CHARLAINE HARRIS- I LOVE ALL OF THEM BUT THE FIRST AND THE 8TH AND 9TH I THINK ARE THE BEST. I RECOMMEND YOU READ THEM IN ORDER TO GET THE WHOLE PICTURE BUT I LOVED THEM. I'VE NEVER BEEN MUCH OF A READER AND THESE BOOKS ESPECIALLY THIS ONE I READ IN ONE NIGHT. THEY ARE ADDICTING!!!! I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE ! HER BOOKS ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE TRUE BLOOD SERIES ON HBO.

Book 9 of Sookie Stackhouse installment. Not as good as the previous books and leaves a lot of questions. Kind of a disappointment to read because it is so short. I finished the entire book in less that 3 hours.
