Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris (2005, Paperback, Reprint)

After reading the first three Sookie Stackhouse books, I can easily say this one is my favorite...so far.

Like I have said before, these are great little books to read. They never let me down. I have read most of the series and I love them. I never get bored with the charactors since the author brings in new ones all the time. I get attached to some, hate some but they are all great and interesting.

This copy of Dead to the World arrived exactly as it was described, which is Like New. It took about a week to arrive. I was moderately pleased.

I like fact that the author tried a new fresh look where Eric is actually kinder and gentler to Sookie (unlikely as it may seem). Bill goes to Peru while Sookie is at home in Bon Temps still in love with him, but finding the strength to move on. An then she finds a half-naked vampire with blond hair, Eric. Eric looses his memory, most of his arrogance, his evil side of life and gains the love of Sookie. Sookie being of sound mind and body, naturally suspects Eris is up to his old tricks to get in bed with her. But as you read closely you'll find Eric at first just trying to find some companionship. Of course he still seduces Sookie and believe me you do not wanna miss the juicy moments. Eric shows more than his share of pillow talk. Poor Sookie she has to deal with a group of evil witches that are not your usual coven. Not to menthion shape shifters with their own set on rules. And two miserable, wretched ,sorry excuses for a shape shifters in this book. One who is as obvious as her jealous for Sookie. Even though she can't admit it was her own fault for loosing her boyfriend. And you'll what happens to her in the book , trust me she had it coming. The other shape shifter comes later on the book. But trust me when his share of logic is just plain idiotic. Jason Stackhouse ends up missing with an interesting surprise that you may or not see coming. Pay close attention to the clues and you can try to find out how the book will end.

This whole series is original! I've never read anything like it. It was fun make you smile and wince while reading it. What would happen if Vampires "came out of the coffin."? If you like Eric this book is the best one!

This was a fun & sexy 'Sookie' installment. I thoroughly enjoyed Eric & Sookie's relationship here. [Almost sad to see it end :( ] Can't wait to see if/when Eric regains his memories of his time in the Stackhouse residence. [Wouldn't mind having a big viking-vampire hanging around my place! LOL]

This is my favorite book in the series. Charlaine Harris has a way of making you feel like you are living the story! A great read and defintely one that will remain in my collection.

Dead to the World is the 4th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I just finished reading this & it was wonderful. There are even more new characters introduced in the fun filled story & this one also includes Eric and others from past books. This one is fast paced with the plot thickening as you read. You just aren't sure what will happen next. It is a truly fun, humorous, delightful series and I can't wait to read the next one.

I would recommend to read the series in order! I loved it and hope you will to.

I like how Eric was affected by his amnesia and the interaction between him and Sookie. I thought the plan that Pam came up with to defeat the witches was exciting and scary. And I liked how Sookie was so worried about Jason, and how she eventually found him.

I decided to buy this book because I love the show True Blood which is based on the Charlaine Harris Southern Vampire Series about Sookie. The books are very good too. If you like vampires and excitement then you will like these books.

This one really tickled my funny bone and I think it took maybe two days for me to read. I couldn't put it down! Eric's already one of my favorite's in this series, so the plot was right up my alley!

I love the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris. Once I started reading Club Dead I literally could not put it down. I recommend this book to anyone with a great sense of humor who loves a little twist on reality.

I read the whole "Southern Vampire" series through our local library. I enjoyed them all. This book seemed to really stick out to me as the best one in the series. The more I thought about it the more I knew I wanted to own this one. The book discription explains the set up. The thought of Eric being vulnerable- what a plot idea. Just the way the whole story unfolds is pure genious. Charlaine Harris is just funny and I cannot wait to see this series in the fall on HBO. I only hope they do it justice.

This was the only book in the series I did not read or have. I enjoy her writing every much. She has a good sense of humor and a sense of the ridiculous that I enjoy. I have read all her books in the SWouthern Vampire Series and enjoyed them all.

Great main character! Funny gutsy female from the South meets weres, vampires, etc! I bought from ebay to save time & money and because my library wait list is too long for this title!

Charlaine Harris does a great job with this series. Light-hearted and a great read. I love this series.
