  AWESOME PARANORMAL SERIES

THIS SERIES IS ABOUT A WITCH-BOUNTY HUNTER LOCATED IN CINCINNATI, OHIO. A GREAT PLAGUE THAT KILLED MOST OF HUMANITY, THE ANGEL VIRUS, CREATED SUPERNATURAL BEINGS. FULL OF WEREWOLFS, WITCHES, VAMPIRES, PIXIES, FAIRIES, LEPRECHAUN'S AND MORE. THIS IS THE "NEW" WORLD. WRITTEN IS A REALISTIC VERSION OF A FANTASY, THE CHARACTERS ARE VERY LIFE-LIKE & RELATABLE.

START WITH THE BOOK "DEAD WITCH WALKING" THEN READ "THE GOOD,THE BAD AND THE UNDEAD" OR BUY THE BOOK "THIS WITCH FOR HIRE" WHICH INCLUDES BOTH OF THESE STORIES IN ONE HARDCOVER COLLECTABLE BOOK.

THIS IS A AWESOME SERIES FOR THOSE WHO LOVE THE PARANORMAL...YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

At first I had a hard time getting involved in the story, but once I did, I could not put it down. This is a very different story line than I am used to. The main character is a witch who lives and works with a vampire. As the book progressed you sort of believe that the characters could be real. The plot became very exciting and kept my interest. When I finished reading this book, I immediatly went on line to order the rest of the series. Don't be discouraged if you can't jump into the story right away. Give it a little time and you will be hooked.

I really like Kim Harrison's world of The Hollows. I thought the doomsday scenario for mankind was very interesting, at the hands of tomatoes no less. Sounds like the attack of the killer tomatoes. At first I thought her heroine Rachel Morgan was an Anita Blake wannabe. But I have actually become a big fan of Rachel and her entourage, especially Jenks, the stud muffin, naughty boy, potty mouth pixie. There are sexy vampires, living and dead, galore and a teasing bit of romance, could use a little more. I actually came into this series back end first by reading For A Few Demons More. It was difficult to understand what was going on but I made it and then decided the storyline was worth pursuing. I have collected the Morgan series and am happily reading my way through this exciting world. While not having the same punch as some other novels in this genre, I still think it is worth the time to get to know this world.

This is a great book to read if you like witches, vampires, werewolves etc. You find yourself rooting for the heroine and becoming a huge fan of the pixie Jenks! At first it moves pretty slowly but then picks up a fast pace.

The first book in many great books to come!

I've read four books by kim harrison and have never regretted turning one page. I adore these books, they give me both Plum and Baker in a way that I did not think was possible. This first book is a wonderful introduction into life in the Hollows.
The characters are vivid and realistic, it's funny, and I actually like everyone, some bad guys included (Kisten). If you invest in this series you will NOT regret it. Jenks is a hoot!

Dead Witch Walking , Leaves you wanting more!

This a wonderfully entertaining read.
With unforgettable characters, intrega, suspense, mystery and humor, with just a dash of sexual erotic tension. Set in a world where magic, myth and man cross paths every day. A place where magic is real. You will find a witch with powers even she has yet to discover and a target on her back, a living vampire with a unwanted destiny and a pixie with big ego and a even bigger family. They team up to become private eyes for the darker side of town. You will be captivated as mysteries unwind only to present new ones. A read in which once you pick it up you can't put it down and it leaves you wanting more. Kim Harrison has a unique grip of the nature of the occult, of Wicca and of relationships, both human and unhuman. I loved this from begining to end. I could not wait till the next book came out. Give it a try and take a ride on the wild side.

Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking - well worth reading!
Review created: 01/10/09

This title is the first in an engaging and addictive series. Rachael Morgan and her partners in Vampiric Charms, living in a Ohio church, bring evil doers to justice with a minimum of gore and overt sexuality, but with well-crafted language and plot. The action is quick and quirky, the characters are well-developed and personable. I highly recommend the series for all fans of paranormal good guys.

I actually bought this book to replace a damaged one. I love reading work by Kim Harrison. Her stories are full of strong females, and mystical lives. You get to see a different side of vampirism...it doesn't have to be bad and/or evil.

Fur Is Cruel, and Sometimes Vampires Are Too.

For a witch who specializes in charms, Rachel Morgan has some lousy luck. She leaves her dead-end job, managing to get a contract put out on her lifein the process, and her subsequent attempts to bring down a crooked local bigwig could also cost her everything.

Set in an alternate present where vampires, Weres and pixies live side-by-side with a reduced human population (tomato plague, and yes, you read that right), this book is funny, exciting, and even sexy. If you've ever held a job you can relate to Rachel, the plot and pacing are good, and the secondary characters are interesting in their own rights. I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book. It was really action packed and had some very good dramatic points that leave you wondering what will happen next with it. It's not really full of "magic"; if you took away all of the "magical" happenings, it would still be a good book.
