Synopsis In this standalone Beltway thriller, the White House asks operative Jake Winter to locate the missing Lincoln Bowe, a former Senator and an outspoken critic of Arlo Goodman, the governor of Virginia, who heads a local xenophobic militia. Although the militia seems the most obvious culprit, Jake eventually discovers evidence that Goodman's enemies, not Bowe's, might be behind the plot.
