Dead Like Me - The Complete Second Season (DVD)

I love this DVD, I get to watch dead like when I want to. Showtime took it off the air, so I ended my subscription with them, and invested my money in getting both seasons instead. This is a great show with wonderful characters everyone can relate too.

If you have season 1, then season 2 is a must buy. Some questions are answered. Well if your paying attention they are answered. Whats the deal with the frog.Does george get to see her family? What about rube, why is he so secreative? Get season 2 and find out. The show is about a girl who dies in the prime of her life and becomes a reaper. Well if you consider "prime of life" being when you dont know the purpose of your life is, haveing never gone any where or done anything and you have never even kissed a boy.

They do like to use the F word every episode.This is a must buy series.

Great show I recommend it highly to anyone who likes dark humor. Unforturnately the christian right did this show in despite it's popularity so the cliffhanger leaves you hanging. I am sure that the people who were making this had many creative ideas of where they were going to take these characters/storyline. However I suggest that you enjoy both seasons for what they are which is some of the most creative ideas in the past 10 years of television. This is not the usual pablum you find on network sitcoms and it also has great acting.

This is a great show. It follows a group of grim reapers trying not to be discovered as they reap throughout their assigned city. It is hillarious and disturbing at the same time, and is the first of it's kind. This is a must buy.

After watching only the first episode from Season 1, I could already tell that this series was going to be a favorite of mine. It's dark humor mixed with an interesting variety of characters including the sarcastic Georgia (George) was enough to addict me, and it even overcame my expectations by throwing in excellent directing and acting and aesthetically pleasing footage. Learning about each reapers' pasts along with their deaths was a great addition throughout the plotline, as well as the inventive ways that the victims die.

I'm greatly disappointed that the series was cut; I would have begged for it to continue. However, Season 2 managed to give an alright sense of closure by the final episode, even if some things felt incomplete or untold.

I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys a great dark humor filled with the sarcasm of rebellious youth, irony, and sparky wit.

"Dead Like Me" is the story of George, whose life doesn't really begin until she dies, killed by a toilet seat from the space station. George is tapped to become a "Grim Reaper", specifically dealing with death by accident - people falling off ladders, car accidents, etc.

The second season delves more deeply into the characters, and each episode enables George to learn another lesson about life.

My son told I would like this series and brought me the first season. I had my doubts - reapers? Sounded too strange for me. After the first episode, I was hooked. The acting is superb and the writing is tight - funny, sad, touching - it hits every emotion and sense. Mandy Patinkin, who could read me his grocery list and I would sit is awe, is wonderful in the part of Rube. The other characters are just quirky enough to be not only interesting but fun. One would think this show would end up being macabre. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Try this series. You'll like it!!! You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll wish there was a third season.

I first saw this series when SciFi began airing it on Tuesday nights and got hooked! Had to add it to my collection. If you like complicated, quirky characters in a dark comedy with insightful themes you'll love it too.

I had the oppertunity last fall to meet Ellen Muth the star of Dead Like Me and before then I had never watched the show. Meeting her made me interested in seeing exactly what it was all about. I first saw an episode a few months ago on Sci-fi and from then on I was hooked. Muth plays a young sarcastic and somewhat depressed girl who is killed by a toilet seat falling from the sky. She soon after realizes that she as well as others have become grim reapers. These reapers walk amoung the living and live lives just as the living do. Each episode the reapers are giving a paper with a name of someone who is schedule to die and the reapers must make their transition to the after-life as easy as possible. The show also stars Rebecca Gayheart, Jasmine Guy, Laura Harris,Mandy Patinkin, and Callium Blue.
The show is funny and full of surprises. It has a good mix of drama as well. Allthough it may sound a bit odd it is a very welcome change from the ordinary tv show. I believe that anyone with a sense of humor will love this show. It has a way of bringing humor to a dark world. Each episode brings you a new story and many diferent death senerios.
From falling toilet seats to revolving doors this show gives you a humoristic look at death.
And for the record Ellen Muth is just as adorable in person as she is on this show.

i watch this show on scifi i wish i had the money to buy the dvds this show is awesome based all around death but they make it funny amazing writers

This is my bosses favorite show and unfortunately I didn't start watching it until it had gotten cancelled so these DVD's are the only way for me to watch it and they are awesome! The show is really great and I just wish I could have started watching it while it was on TV. I highly recommend this show!

Excellent show, its cool to watch the characters evolve especially when you can watch the shows one after another with the DVDs. What TV can and should be, smart, witty, intelligent and never boring.

Great Show! wish it hadn't ended. The characters were growing and it seemed to make you think about a lot of things in life.

We love this series. One of our favorites. Funny! Clever! Entertaining! Original! The acting is great. Mandy Patinkin and Whitley from the Cosby show to name a few. We look forward to every episode. This was a great series until they last four shows, it's kind of like they knew they were going to get canceled so they stopped caring.

This was a terrific, highly amusing, really interesting and very quirky series for two seasons on the Showtime Premium Channel starting in 2003 through 2004.

It's about a rather depressed 18 year old girl who calls herself "George", that suddenly loses her life when a toilet seat from a Russian satellite lands on her when the satellite breaks up on re-entering Earths atmosphere. Immediately upon her death she finds out that she's been chosen to become one of many grim reapers who roam the world, and the series follows her through her various reaping assignments and how she learns to live as one of the "Undead".

Great casting and story lines made this series a cult classic. So much so, that the calls and letters to Showtime complaining about the series cancellation finally resulted in a direct to DVD movie release in February of 2009 called "Dead Like Me-Life after Death".

Other cast members include: Crystal Dahl as Crystal(the receptionist at "Happytime"), Patricia Idlette as Kiffany with a "K",(waitress at the restaurant where the reapers meet to get their daily reaping assignments from Rube), and Talia Ranger(a "Younger" version of George in flashbacks from her earlier life). Try it, you'll like it, but only if you don't mind strong language.

the worst part about this season was how many clip shows there were, I would say some of the episodes are 50% clips, which is fine if you didn't just sit through all the episodes before it, if you did as I did you will find the prevelence for clips thoroughly annoying

I watched Season 1....I had to see Season 2 to what happened and how the characters evolved. It was well worth the price....just not as many episodes in season 2 as in season 1. I liked the lead character played by Ellen Muth..and I like Mandy Patinkin. Well written and fun to watch.

I accidentally ran across one episode of Dead Like Me on a tv channel I hardly ever watch. I had never saw this show before and had no idea it existed much less that it was already in re-runs. After watching that one show, I ordered both seasons on dvd. I was hoping not to be disappointed and I wasn't! I received the second season in the mail before the first so I when ahead and watched it. This was a great season and I loved every episode. It was so good, I watched the whole season two in one weekend! A great Memorial Day weekend get-a-way!

This series is quick-witted and quirky. It took me awhile to get used to the somewhat monotone speaking pattern of George, the main character, but now I love it. A little dark at times; this series does a great job mixing comedy with a serious plot line. Wonderfully addictive!!

It is the best TV show Ever! I wish there was more, There needs to be more! Please lest there be more! It Is My God!

I LOVE this series! So original and witty. Similar to Six feet under but more lighthearted. Captivating - you'll sit down to watch one episode and end up finishing the whole disc.

This show just keeps getting better every season!!! The acting and the writing are both top notch. I love the dark humor.
