DeLorme Earthmate PN-20 Handheld GPS Receiver

This is my second PN-20; I bought it because I lost the first. The best testimonial I can offer is that I didn't even consider another manufacturer: the first PN-20 filled my needs, and I knew exactly what to buy. It's an outstanding, durable unit; Delorme's map packages seem far superior to what anybody else has to offer, even at substantially higher prices; and their customer service and support departments are actuallu aupportive, unlike some other companies'.

Now that Delorme also offers a $29 per year subscription to all sorts of graphics, it's even sweeter!

Two caveats: First, this is a great unit for outdoor activities-- hiking, mountain biking, geocaching, etc., but not the best for in-car navigation. It lacks some of the bells and whistles, and the screen refreshes a little slowly. Second, Delorme's new PN-40 is now available, and might be worth a good, long look. If nothing else, it will drive the price of used PN-20s down a little!
