DeLonghi DCM485 10-Cup Coffee Maker

I purchased this coffee maker about a month ago.. I thought it was just me but, everyone that ATTEMPTS to pour coffee from this coffee pot spills it. For the price and rating of a coffee maker like this. Don't you think they would have designed one you can pour a decent cup of coffee out of. Sure sucks to constantly have a hand full of paper towels close by to wipe up the mess. I have learned to pour it over the sink until I can afford to replace it with a decent pouring coffee maker. Sad that a good coffee maker will go in the garbage because it has this flaw.

I actually really like this coffee maker, but I have some problems with how it was designed. If you do everything right, it makes a great cup of coffee and I love having it in a thermal pot that I can take with me. I read all the reviews before I ordered it and yet have made all the mistakes that are talked about in those reviews. If you don't line up the arrows on the lid of the pot it will overflow and make a mess. If you leave any coffee in the pot from the day before it will overflow and make a mess. If the pot is not sitting centered with the handle straight out, it will overflow and make a mess. I did read reviews saying the coffee poured slowly, but that is only if you leave the lid on the pot with the arrows lined up for brewing. There are other arrows that if you line up the fin is straight out the spout, and it pours just fine. Finally, it could make the coffee a little hotter, and thus stay hotter longer. Having said all that, I think the coffee is a little stronger/flavorful than my old black and decker coffeemaker and I love the carafe.

Ok, I am a coffee pot-aholic! I have tried every pot out there and I never seem to like any of them. Either the carafe leaks or they're impossible to clean! I decided to try the DeLonghi because I have several other appliances made by them...wow!...I love this coffee pot!!! I've had it for several months and I just love it. It cleans up easily and the coffee taste wonderful pot after pot. It looks really nice as well. No leaking from the body or carafe. I plan to get another one really soon and put it away for a gift. I rate this pot, excellent!

It's too hard for me to not write about seller, it's been 2 months since I paid, Still no communication, still no product. I see I can't even leave negative feedback as they no longer sell on e-bay. Dispute is still open? It seens I am out of more than $50.00

Sure, it's no Krups and it's far from a professional barista quality coffee maker, but it brews a good solid cup of coffee and it's relatively easy to operate.

People have complained that the carafe drips all over their counter when pouring, but it is important to note that you have to use the carafe according to directions. It's pretty simple - turn the lid and match an arrow to a picture. NOT doing this simple task will result in a mess...

The carafe is not insulated and relies on the lid seal to keep the coffee hot so it may not stay hot for 12 hours but it'll stay drinkable for about 4-5 hours after brewing.

The water filter is hard to seat and setting the brew times could be designed better, but it's not overly taxing.

If you are someone looking for the easiest way to do anything and want to be plain lazy, then this is not for you (this... and any other middle to upper end coffee maker for that matter) because nothing good comes easy. It's not the simplest design, but it is the first generation coffee maker with a thermal carafe that DeLonghi has.

The stainless steel exterior cleans up well and while the unit takes up a considerable amount of space it isn't cumbersome and hoggish in a counter top. It's not an item that goes well in small spaces.

It seemed attractive and the item description described it with all of its bells and whistles. In reality it is a piece of junk. Virtually impossible to program, makes foul tasting coffee. I can see why there are so many of the rejected by mainstream retailers!

I loved the looks and the design of this coffeemaker.

What I don't like is that it pours VERY slowly into your cup...(I take the lid off to get coffee pouring faster.)

Another drawback to me is the fact that the bottom of coffee pot enclosure does not get or stay hot. The "hot" comes from the top and the insulated coffee jug helps keep it warm for quite a while.

I like the style and look about this model; however there are a few problems with the basic construction of the machine, at least in my opinon. The base for the filter needs a better dispenser! it it's not set on here andpressed firmly down, te water in the filter does not drip into the pot! instead it pour out the top leaving a huge mess of coffee and grinds. Another big problem is the caraffe top, you have to unscrew the top just right in oreder for it to fit into the holder for heating,also alighn the arrows for pouring and storing of the pot, and if not you have another huge mess or you get burned by the coffee. Also, the coffee never stayed that hot, maybe for two hours, but never 10-12 like stated in the decription it gave. If I had the option to buy over again? I would look to another brand. It was not worth the price, even though I got a great deal from a gret seller. I would have spent more for a better

The unit's appearance is very compatible with our stainless steel stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc. Some nice features, i.e., water filter, removable water reservoir, etc. Had it about a month -- absolutely no problems. The carafe is solid and keeps coffee hot for 2 hours. Though the pour spout could be wider to permit faster pouring. The competitive eBay price was a factor in decision to buy. Retail price is steep. If the unit's appearance is as important to you as good coffee, I would recommend it.

I bought one of these for me and liked it so well I got a 2nd one for a friend. He and his family loved it. Now they are getting 2 more. This is a great coffee pot, at an unbelievable price, from an honest seller.

the coffee stays hot for hours and brews quickly. The programming feature is great I love to wake up to the smell of fresh coffee.

Great coffee maker. We've bought three. One was a gift and one we wore out after about 18 months of heavy use. It keeps our coffee nice and fresh and hot for about 4 hours after brewing without that strong, burnt, repercolated taste. Service is simply outstanding.

The stainless steel is easy to clean and is attractive. It does take up a lot of cabinet space. I like the thermos but the turn top is difficult to pour from. I read the directions carefully and turned the top as directed. But I thought it was out of coffee, but when I rinsed it out there was at least a cup left. It keeps the coffee hot and is easy to bring to the breakfast table.

Super modern, stays the coffee very warm just all day, the coffee filter is very clean, and easy to use. so, the best part is the price , the comunication with the seller was very nice and send me my item so fast.

Looks good. Flaw in the mechanism that allows coffee to drip into carafe allows coffee to backup and overflow. Overcame this flaw by inserting folded aluminum foil to keep mechanism open.

Have had this machine (refurbished from ebay) about three months now and have not had one problem with it. Very attractive and IMO, solidly built. I LOVE the water dispenser that has a handle, lifts out of the coffee-maker, and can be brought to the sink to fill, with clearly marked measurements. Never have had a problem with dripage; as someone pointed out, you have to position the lid for pouring, there are arrows to be lined up - a read through the directions will prevent any problems with dripping. I have used it with the permanent filter, and with paper filters - which I prefer for clean-up - both ways makes fine coffee. The "on" button blinks when it's turned on, and needs to be pressed again so it stops blinking for the cycle to start. The cycle starts quietly, and rumbles right before it is close to being done. There is a spot on top to put your coffee cup to heat it up while the cycle is brewing. This does not heat up the cup, and there is danger of the cup falling off and breaking. Out of habit I still heat our cups with hot H2O before I pour, (even thought it's really not necessary with this coffee-maker). I find the coffee plenty hot for my needs, and it stays hot for the couple of hours in the morning I drink it. I have programmed it without any problems. For the price I paid on Ebay, I'm VERY satisfied with this machine; don't hesitate to try it out.

The item broke within a day of having it. The buttons and screen stopped working. Had to unplug/plug to turn it off and on. I had to send back to seller and they sent another. Well see how long this one lasts.

I received my product very quickly and absolutely love it. I have used it every day since and would buy from this seller again if the chance arose. I have not had any problems and was surprised at how quickly I received it. There was no problem with payment and all went very smoothly. I would recommend this seller to anyone. You can certainly trust him.

I would have liked it better if it would have not been broken when i recived prouduct. now i have a broken coffee maker that dosen't do me much good should have just went to wal-mart and bought one i guess i could of taken it back for a replacement.

I bought this for my three sons that drink coffee. My wife and I don't. They seem to like it but they haven't spoken in high praise of it very often. My wife doesn't like the looks of it. I have compared it to prices at Wal-Mart and I think I got a good deal on it and I think it looks better than all the cheap models out there including Mr. Coffee.

I like the stainless steel carafe, the permanent gold filter, and the easy fill.

I dislike having to use about twice as much coffee as with the Krups 10-cup. I dislike that the carafe handle has a flimsy connection. I dislike the very long brewing time. I dislike the broken clock.

I bought it for the steel carafe.

it is cheaply made,coffee gets cold pretty fast,since its a thermal,it doesnt stay heated,
we bought it because it sounded like a pretty sweet coffee machine,we used it for a week,then bought a new one from walmart,and got rid of the delonghi

I use this coffee maker in my jobsite tool trailer so it takes a beating. weve went through many glass crafts and its hard to keep the coffee warm in a glass craft on a cold day. now i dont have to worry about broken crafts or cold coffee. to find a stinless steal coffee maker at this price had to take it.
