1961 british sci-fi classic, highly poignant

Originally intended as a subversive anti-nuclear cautionary tale, the central theme holds up surprisingly well today.
Simultaneous U.S. and Soviet nuclear tests shift the Earth's axis and orbit, causing global warming, extreme weather and runaway climate change. Sound a little familiar?
Good writing, direction and acting, and surprisingly accurate anticipation of climate change from an era when atmospheric and climatic sciences were still in their infancy.
Highly recommended.
