Spending the last 7 years in the music promotion business, I have heard thousands of demos from rap, pop and rock...very few of any real quality. Chris and the band put together a great cd filled with passion filled lyrics, excellent vocals and sound production.
In an era of meaningless pop and embarassing rap, this rock cd stands out.

I was wowed by his performance on Idol... I was mesmerized by his rough rock-n-roll style, I nearly cried when it was announced that this awesome raw talent was going home.... so, of course I eagerly awaited his debut album.
This man has the most powerful, most breath-taking, most captivating vocals that I have heard in a long time. However, I was dissapointed in this album. While his vocals are amazing and I dont' think it is bad... I was sad to hear it sounding so similar to some of the other bands on the radio today. I expected him to debut with this hardcore, hard-hitting, ROCK album but instead it sounds like all the others out there. I will remain a loyal Daughtry fan because I know he is capable of something unique, something different and I know he will deliver.
On another note: the lyrics are great, his vocals are on fire, and yes, it is definitely worth purchasing!!

I bought this based on Chris' performance on AI like many others. I already knew 2 songs from Radio play It's Not Over & Home....so I figured I was ahead compared to other CDs I have purchased...
Anyway....this CD turned out to be much better than I thought it would be.
I love each of the songs. I would highly recommend this cd to anyone!!!!

This CD is just as I imagined. Chris has come into his own and explodes on to the circuit with Daughtry. Who needs Fuel when you have a voice like his and can be Daughtry. His name says enough, but then you play the CD. His songs include one with Gun's n Rose's Slash...who is awesome at best. Mostly written by Chris, these songs have his edge. His first CD is all I expected. His next will ONLY be BETTER. This CD is well worth the wait. Can't wait for the next one too Chris!!

When I bought this CD, I expected some hard rock tunes on there like what he sang on American Idol, but instead I got pop love songs. GRANTED, the boy can sing his butt off, but I just hoped for more edgy songs. And a lot of the songs sound alike to me. But overall it is a good CD. He is gorgeous, so I would have bought the CD anyway :P

I always knew Chris would put out a great CD, but I was amazed at how many good songs are on there. I literally listen to each and every one. I never have to skip over any of them. The whole band is just awesome - see them in concert if you get the chance. Trust me - you will not be disappointed!

I always thought Chris should have won on American Idol, but in the end, I think it is better for his career that he didn't "win". His voice is amazing, and I love almost every song on this CD. There are some ballads and some more powerful songs. Great driving music!

well he wasknocked off idol at number 4.. i really never liked him at all. then i hear the song HOME all year long on this season of idol and loved it really not realizing it was chris.. got the cd and that boy can sing!!! i love the cd!!!! one question though. whats with all the mascara & eyeliner he wears now? lol buy the cd you wont be dissapointed

Daughtry is awesome! This is a great album! i was skeptical even though I liked him on AI. After purchasing the album, i realized the kid has talent. Has some ballads & some edgier songs - but whats nice is no obscenities or vulgarities! Definitely add this to your collection!

Daughtry does not disappoint! Every song is delivered with passion and the strong vocal performance America came to love on American Idol. In retrospect, aren't we glad that Chris did not have to sing "Do I Make You Proud"?! This CD is well arranged and an excellent compilation to demonstrate the range of Daughtry. From the heartfelt What About Now to the driving guitar and rock-out vocal in What I Want, every song drew me in with unique appeal. I'm not at all surprised that this has been a #1 seller. The music video of It's Not Over, also hitting #1 on the charts, is not cheesy or abstract. No gimmicks with Daughtry, just an amazing blend of talent that fans can't seem to get enough of. Chris Daughtry did not win American Idol but Daughtry has done his fans proud!

When "American Idol" began, I watched it from start to finish. I was hoping Chris Daughtry would make it. But it didn't matter, he came out with an amazing CD! I bought it the week it came out. I must say, that was the ONLY CD I listened to that whole week. Every song is rockin' and has a message, which is hard to find. Nowadays, many songs are filled with sex, money, and drugs. Daughtry has once again found their niche with love, rock, and good music! I reccomend this CD to everyone!

Two Thumbs Up For Chris Daughtry! -- One of the Finalist of American Idol Show Season 5. I watched this show every week and I Liked Chris so Much! I am sad to see him leave too soon...I voted for him religiously after every show! LOL. We Always Thought he'd manage to create an awesome music regardless. And Heck! we are right! This DAUGHTRY album-- so brilliantly made from start to finish. My favorite is "Over You" -- This CD is the best yet! I can't wait to buy his next album. Try to listen to his songs - better yet, buy this CD - You won't regret it... He totally Rocks!

Chris Daughtry and his band deliver an alternative sound w/ some hard rock edge. Much better than his amateur work on his Absent Element and Cadence CDs. This CD grabs you with the first song. Once you start it, you won't want to turn it off. Daughtry has potentially 4 top ten hits on this album. The album and debut track are already shattering records and putting Taylor Hicks to shame!! DAUGHTRY IS AWESOME!! DAUGHTRY ROCKS!!

I asked for this CD for Christmas mostly because I loved Chris on Idol. What I got was a great CD which I listened to about 100 times on my recent road trip from Pennsylvania to Alabama and back. I love Chris's voice and stand by my choice for him to have been the winner of American Idol. Great lyrics, great voice, great songs overall (and might I had a great looking cover). This CD is definitely worth purchasing--can't wait for the next CD and a tour!!!

I bought the CD a few weeks ago because I remember Chris from the Show American Idol and I really enjoyed his singing. The CD features 2 songs of just him without a musical background. I would highly recommend this CD to any music lover. Absolutely awesome CD of a great singer. He should have been the winner of American Idol.

American Idol runner-up Chris DAUGHTRY should have won the award with the musical talent, and emotion he puts into his songs! The new CD, DAUGHTRY, is by far one of the best albums released in 2006!! If you liked Chris Daughtry in American Idol you will love this CD. Not too hard with a nice variety of rock ballads, alternative and hard rock. The song "Home" is beautiful. I can see people sending this album to husbands and sons overseas for this song alone. I have listened to every song on this album a number of times and I have not been tempted to skip any. I would recommend this album to anyone who likes pop-rock or alt-rock.

always wanted to get his album. i always listen to his singles. its great to finally get the album and hear the whole thing. very unfortunate he didnt won the title - but he is now big! - and a christian!
