A Date With Judy
This late-1940s musical is a pleasant way to spend ninety minutes. Jane Powell possessed the most beautiful soprano voice ever in the movies, so any opportunity to hear her sing is welcome. The big hit from the film, "It's a Most Unusual Day" is a real hummer, and it's also a pleasure to watch the young Elizabeth Taylor vamping her way across the screen. Throw in Carmen Miranda and Xavier Cugat, and gorgeous Technicolor, and my purchase was a no-brainer. The Warner DVD transfers are always perfect and done with great care.
