Album Notes Crazy Town: Seth "Shifty" Shellshock, Bret "Epic" Mazur (vocals); Kraig "Squirrel" Tyler, Anthony "Trouble" Valli (guitar); Doug "Fedo" Miller (bass); Kyle Hollinger (drums). Recorded at Bay 7 Studios, Valley Village, California, Sparky Dark Studio, Calabasas, California, 7th House, Los Angeles, California. Two years after topping Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart with "Butterfly," a groovy little number driven by a Red Hot Chili Peppers' sample, Crazy Town comes back with the sophomore effort DARKHORSE. In rounding down the hip-hop edges of their debut THE GIFT OF GAME, this rowdy sextet instead deliver a darker image that fluctuates between the pounding anthem "Battle Cry" to the smooth-grooved "Skulls And Stars". Despite this subtle shift in style, Shifty (aka Seth Binzer), hasn't lost a lyrical step and still manages a vital flow that resonates deeply throughout "Change." Among the surprises that pop up on this sophomore effort are a guest solo shot by Weezer guitarist/founder Rivers Cuomo on "Hurt You So Bad," and "Drowning," a soaring semi-autobiographical breakout single addressing the band's sudden rush of success and its accompanying emotional fallout. Fans of big guitar crunch need not fear, as Crazy Town makes sure to put the volume on 11 with sonic H-bombs like "Take It To The Bridge," "Waste Of My Town," and "Decorated."
