I found this book by accident and was a little weary at first because of the dying again and again part. I read to escape not to get depressed. but it didn't turn out that way. it was alot better then i expected. it reminded me alot of J.R. WARD brotherhood series, as this also has a group of men who are bonded as friends. Really good romance............ and i enjoyed the friendship of the men and how they all "took" care of the young dr.
The idea of a volcano being a gateway was interesting.... different........
I liked the little fantasy combo "get away and hiding" that the two main characters did, flying kites, and other beach activities, it was cute.

This looks like it's going to be a good series, can't wait for book two trahern's story.

interesting premise if a little superficial. characterization is done well with "real" dialog. sex scenes fairly realistic, women tougher than normal genre romance. good alpha males not too irritating. just enough interest to finish the series but not a "cannot put down read." good time passer, real fast read.
