Dark Lover by JR Ward was one of the best book I have ever read. This is the 1st book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series.I finished it in 1 Day! This is a must read if you love Paranormal Romance. Wrath is a warrior & possible king for the Vampire Race. Then a half human/vampire daughter of another trusted warrior is orphaned. Beth embraces this dangerous dark warrior.One single touch from Wrath That may consume them both! I highly Recommend this book. I really enjoyed every minute! Oh SO HOT~The Best Ever~A Must Read!

I loved this book. I'm new to the vampire genre and initially I was drawn to the eyecatching cover and I read some adds for it. It was packed with lots of action, lots of romance, and lots of sexy vampire warriors. Wrath and Beth's story will curl your toes. There are lots of possibilities for future stories. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series.

PS....Since I wrote this review I have read the next two books in the series. I have to change the title of my review....It's not one of the best....It's THE BEST!!! So far I have fallen in love with all the Brotherhood; must be my thing for bad boys...but Wrath is my favorite by far, Beth is a lucky,lucky girl.

I originally checked this book out from the library, due to a review I read on All About Romance. It took a while before I actually picked it up to read it. I was wary at first because so many books on vampire romance have the same formula and characters, but with this book I was taken by storm, so to speak. It knocked my socks off. The characters were out of this world and I found myself finishing the book off in 2 days. I just couldn't put it down. J.R. Ward's writing style is addictive and I love the street slang the males use. I immediately got the second book, and then I ended up getting the whole series on ebay. I'm actually getting ready to read this book again. I did not want to leave this world the author created. I definitely recommend this one.

Loved it a thrilling start to the series. Its a new style to vampires and presents them in a more believeable fashion with likeable characters with real problems and challeges. I bought it originally because the cover art gripped me and the intro to the book was just to good to pass up and now i'm glad I did the best thing I could have spent my money on.

The book was in good condition. Pages were fine. The book was great thought. I finished it in about 3 days. I also got my book on time. The discription the seller wrote attracted me to the book.

Great charaters, great story line. I like the fact that the charaters continue from book to book. J.R. Ward has an excellent series here.

love the author! story about vampires (male) and their culture and the women they love! has it all..action, drama, mystery, and romance(hot and steamy). I read this as a library book 1st, then had to own it!! awaiting sequel avidly. would highly recommend this series!

Excellent book! If you like vampires and romance this is the book for you. It starts a series, couldn't put it down.

Ward develops her characters well that by the second chapter you are rooting for the good guys and that the couple will make it work despite all the differences. The men are just down right sexy! They are very strong characters that you feel no matter what they will find the right answer. The bad guys are definitely creepy and you wonder what crazy thing they are going to do and challenges you to figure out what they are trying to do. I love paranormal romances and this is excellent. I have reread it and I am sure I will do so again til the next book comes out in September.

I read alot of vampire books and they can get a bit monotonous, but this was great. It had action and romance, but all well written.
Mostly the male vampires are more "biker gang" than "Anne Rice"
The plot was rich and had many storylines. I can't wait for the next one.

This book is really hot , a great read if like vampires, sex and voilence. a very hot book. why do these things have to be 100 characters long, do they want me to retype the book?

This is a very good series, i recommend them all.
i sometimes don't like it when the hero plays "it's for your own good" kinda thing, it really pisses me off. but it's not too bad in this book and wrath knows almost immediately that she is the one.

sometimes the butch situation drives me crazy also.

Dark Lover quickly grabs your attention with colorful characters and a fast moving plot. In this first book of the series the author sets the groundwork and history of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, vampire warriors who defend the species. This book focuses on Wrath's (last of the purebred vampires) story. The author is very detailed and descriptive, capturing the reader and drawing them into this dark and mysterious society. It is a highly sensual story, graphically erotic in places.

This book was about the Black Dagger Brotherhood. A brotherhood of vampires that secretly live among us while trying to battle their soul-less enemies, and revive a race that is being wiped out.. This story is about Wrath, the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood and his vow to protect a fallen friend's daughter during her change into a vampire. When things start to heat up, the two realize that there might be more to their relationship than they thought. This book is hot and sizzling for all those paranormal romance lovers out there!

When I placed the order for this book, it was backordered. I was informed that the product would be restocked within a week so I waited for it to ship. After waiting over two weeks, I canceled the backorder and purchased the book from a store.

The Black Dagger Brotherhood is an excellent series!! I read all of them, fell in love, and decided I needed to own the collection. I don't like the overly romantic kind of books so these were perfect because they are strong ass-kicking vampires who only have a soft spot for the one they love. Luvs it!

Great read, could not put the book down =), it is a series and cannot wait to read the other two remaining books.

I loved the story of Wrath and Beth. I think the book definitely created room for growth and made me look forward to reading the next installment in the series. I bought the book because I want to have all of the books from the series so that I can read them straight through, which I have done now -- Minus the last two.

Also, of the series I think this is my favorite with Lover Unbound running closely behind it. The others are good too, it's just something about Wrath and Vishous that appeal to me.

Very well written with great action

The most exciting, invigorating series I have read in a while. I have read all 6 books three times each already.

This book is absolutely amazing. It grips you from the beginning, and keeps you through the whole series.
