Dark Demon by Christine Feehan (2006, Paperback)

The best of the Carpathian Series I've read yet - (another one is coming out in Sept 2006). Good Plot, enough suspense to keep you interested. I particularly liked how the newest of the 'Soul Mates to the dark ones' has emerged to be as fierce as the Carpathian males - She is bright, witty, and full of surprises. The neatest thing in this book is the Bonus Carpathian Appendix that explores Carpathians, the language as compared to some of the modern day languages and the interesting infamous Carpathian Healing chants.
Over 500 pages of reading fun - this one I stayed up all night reading. It has been written in such a way that even if you had never read the prior Carpathian Novels - you will not be lost in the story - It stands on it's own as a complete and intriguing look at Vampires and their counterparts.

I read the first book in the Dark Series, Dark Prince, and loved it. Christine is a wonderful and very informed writer on her topics. So, I decided to try to get the rest of the series. They are all so wonderful that since I have gotten the rest, I have been averaging about 2 books per week. I am working my way through the entire series from Dark Prince to Dark Celebration and waiting anxiously for her next book to come out.

Any one who loves romance books with lots of history, lore and steamy, passionate romance needs to read this entire series. You will be as hooked as I am. You should also check out her website: ChristineFeehan.com/DarkSeries...lots of great info there as well.

This book is intriguing as well as sensoual. I love the Carpathian novels. Christine Feehan does so much research and adds so much excitement to her novels it is hard to put them down. Always a good read each character is so interesting and has great qualites. I highly reccomend this book for those who like a little dark sensouality in thier lives.

First off let me say that I was so excited to read this book, I love the Dark Series I have everyone that Mrs Feehan has writen. Unfortuantly I didnt really care for this book. The story of the lovers of Natalya and Vikirnoff was lost to me by all the action of the background of the Dragonseeker's, which dont get me wrong the story behind them needed to be told but in parts of the book to me at least overwhelmed the book. To me I think this book would make a good movie, with all the action involved in it. And why after 12 or 13 book in this series now is a dictonary of the Carpathian language put in the book. And small parts of the book writen in the language. I didn't like this at all.

However, I am extremely excited for the reunion book that is to be out this fall. After all the books and the families in the books that have been apart for centuries I cant wait to read this upcoming book.

As for Dark Demon, its up to you to make your own mind about the book but personally I didn't care for it. But just because I didnt like one of her books doesnt mean that I wont continue to read her work. I think Mrs. Feehan is a wonderfully talented author and for the most part I enjoy reading her work.

I couldn't wait to read the latest in the Carpathian Series. Christine Feehan again surpasses her previous novels in this new installment. Fans of paranormal romance will not be disappointed if they buy this book. For fans of the Carpathian novels, this new book is a must have because it includes an Appendix that with details of Carpethian life. My only complaint it that the good "hunk" picture is on the back of the book dustcover.

I have collected the hardcover editions of most of Ms. Feehan's works. I have discovered that ebay is a great place to find my books by Ms. Feehan, and others such as Sherilyn Kenyon (Dark Hunter Series) and J.D. Robb (... in Death Series).

So if you like Christine Feehan, you will like this book. I was not fond of her last book, Dark Secret, and was worried about this latest release. But I shouldn't have been! Ms Feehan has delivered another outstanding Carpathian novel. She made both the hero and the heroin very likable and brought into the story some old characters that we all love.
If you are just beginning your love of the Carpathian people, then this is the book that can get you hooked and make you want to read them all from the beginning.

Great reading. Highly recommend it. Couldn't put down once I started. Well written. Anyone that likes romance and vampires will like this book.

This is an excellent read. I have found that all of Christine Feehan novels keep you spellbound until the end. You don't want them to end!

This was my first foray into the Dark world. It was a good book but not on the great level of Laurel Hamilton or J.R. Ward. I will probably read more of this series in the future.

This is by far the Worst of the Dark Series...read reviews at Amazon......poorly written and Boring.....So bad I quit buying anymore- took me almost a year to finally buy Dark Celebration (Very Good) because of this Dark demon book- which I bought in hardback as soon as it was published - first one I Paid so much for- what a Waste of money!......Skip this one and go on to Dream Hunter- a slow starter but vastly more satisfying read.

I have all of Christine Feehan's DARK series books. This book definetly lives up to the others in the series and introduces new twists and turns in the Carpathian story. The book goes further into the DRAGONSEEKER lineage and sets the stage for the next (reunion) book. It also sets up the next possible lifemate pairing. Christine Feehan fans will not be dissappointed in this book!!!!!!!!
