The Daring Book for Girls by Andrea Buchanan, Miriam Peskowitz (2007, Hardcover)

I bought this book for my girlfriend for christmas. I haven't read it myself, but she absolutely loves it. I also own The Dangerous Book for Boys. Each of these books are great for boys and girls of all ages. They teach all of the great things that everyone should at least have learned once in their lives. I would highly recommend these books for anyone whether they are 5 or 85. They are absolutely magnificent.

There are some very interesting facts in this book for girls and women of all ages. Many parts of the book brought back childhood memories that now my girls will learn by reading (campfire songs, chinese jumprope, making a sit-upon, etc.) Very fun book to own.

This book is a wonderful guide for girls. It describes, in detail, everything a girl needs to know from history to sleepover games. I wish there had been a book like this when I was a girl! In this age of tecnology and TV girls miss out on the simple things and don't know how to slow down and have fun with what's around them. This book provides hours of entertainment. My girls ages 9 & 12 LOVE this book and always take it with them when they go to sleepovers at their friend's houses.

I bought 5 of these books for our grand daughters. It opens the world of knowledge, of the past, for our grand daughters. It gives them information that may come in handy in their future. I feel it will help complement their already knowledgeable base.

This is great book to have for your daughter. I wish I had this book when I was growing up! It is full of games, trivia, activities, and other wonderful information. Remember all the "hand-clap" games you played in grade school with your friends? They're in there! Instructions on how to make paper airplanes, fortune tellers, lyrics for a ton of camp songs, slumber party games, and so much more! If you have a pre pre-teen daughter (8 and up, probably), I would definitely get her this book. You'll enjoy it as much as she does!

Anyone who can breath, has heard of this series. Well they finally put together one for the ladies.

If you, or your daughter would love to learn how to make all kinds of things then this book is for you! Learn the ancient technique of folding tshirts, how to make a peach pit ring, basic karate moves, yoga positions, etc. Some people say this book is complicated because the pictures aren't real detailed, and neither are the instructions. But I beg to differ!!! Being patient is key with this book, but you must be patient to learn the different things anyway (with or without the book). All in all it's a fun book to read, and try new things with. Fantastic present for any girl, or woman.

I have been giving the Daring Book for Girls by Andrea Buchanan, Miriam Peskowitz to my granddaughters for their birthdays and they love them. One grandaughter said, "Grandma your the best"

I heard about the book "The Dangerous Book for Boys" and read and heard all the great reviews it got, so I was ready for this one when it came out. I didn't hear anything about it when it came out, though, but saw it one day in the library. So, I checked both books out to see if they were something my grandchildren would like, and made my decision then to purchase.

I like that this book covers a variety of topics to interest young girls through older grandmas (to reminisce about, maybe?) and acknowledges their dreams and aspirations. I especially liked the section on real-life princesses, because I think most of us girls have imagined being one once or twice in our lives!

The language is clear, presented in a friendly way, there are lots of illustrations and pictures. The book is a real joy to read.

My granddaughter is 7, (younger than the recommended age of 8) and she loved the book from the moment she opened it. She spent half the day she received it trying to learn to do a proper back flip by following the steps in the book. She also noticed all the cool topics, and had a difficult time choosing which ones to read first!

The only thing I was disappointed with in the book, is that it didn't have the 10 Commandments in it as the "Dangerous Book for Boys" does. But it was me who assumed that since the books touch on some similar subjects that they would be included, so my disappointment was totally my own doing.

"The Daring Book for Girls" is a great book to give or receive, and will be something that a girl can, and will probably want to, keep for years. I may buy one for me!

This is one of the best books for tween girls. My daughter had been asking for it after reading a friend's copy. If your daughter loves to read give this one atry. It really is a neat book.

i liked this book beceause it had alot of things to learn about n alot of ideas for activities. i enjoy it alot though i feel there shud be more stuff added to it or maybe a volume2 or etc. shud be made if not already,so more things could be added other than that the book is great

this has got to be the neatest book you can buy for your kids and grand kids. It shows them so many adventurous ideas, camping, playing sports, making stuff. Along with the songs that were sang when you jumped rope and did the hand clap. Very highly recommended.

This is a great reference book for girls to own. From "How to Tie Knots" to "Boys" the book is well illustrated and written. I have given it to a 16 year old and a 14 year old and they both adored it!!!

If you want to find a compendium of girls street smarts this is the book for you. It carries tons of general info that every girl should know, including some great activity ideas.

I love this book! I wish it was around when I was a girl (the purcahse was for my 12 year old grand-daughter. What a wealth of practical, useful information in one place! I would recommend to anyone for that matter. Great reading old and young alike! A+++++++++++

Lots of fun information and ideas in this book. I have a 9yr and 6yr old that just love reading the book together and trying the projects in it.

My 10 year old daughter loves it. She especially enjoys the chapter on pressing dried flowers. However, I would have like to have seen some similar information to the Dangerous Book for Boys. I would like a Dangerous book for girls - they should be able to be more adventerous than just "daring".
