Dare to Dream (DVD, 2007)

Saw this on HBO and bought this for my granddaughter who pays soccer. Great Item and I am thrilled with it which encourages them to continue playing soccer.

This was an uplifting, emotional history ride of the ups and downs of the U.S. Women's Soccer team over the past 15 years that shows the passion, self-sacrifices, selfless teamwork, and commitment that all of the players made to make the U.S. team winners ( even when losing a match )and gives the uplifting background story for their repeat U.S. team wins in the 2004 & 2008 Olympic Championships !
There was so much close world Team competition to overcome, but the U.S. Team never gave up, as individuals, or as a team !

After watching it, I immediately wanted to watch it again, as these women soccer players never get enough media publicity compared to the men's teams that do not play as consistently, or as well as these women's sports pioneers and role models for all of the young (and older)women that play competitive soccer in all organized league-play in the U.S. and also around the world.

It was an amazing "inside-look" style of documentary, a classic for all who appreciate women athletes, and their dedication to improving themselves and their sport, women's soccer.

My eyes misted up more than once during the events depicted in this touching and emotionally-charged documentary, as the team challenged themselves to be better, even when things seemed gloomy, but they were up to the challenge to keep trying to suceed and win each of their individual matches and finally their eventual championships!

Good video to inspire young girls to pursue the dream of playing for a College, Olympic and National team. But the reality is that the higher you go in competitive soccer the tougher it gets, ones you hit Premier to get to ODP or Elite level you daughter will need to be strong fast and have a high level of technical and tactical skills, it will be fun but is more physical and the body contact to gain possession or shield the ball will be tough and will create injuries. I recommend physical training with Velocity Sports to tone the body and strengthen the muscles around the ankles and knees as well as the strength of the middle body thighs and upper body specially the back muscles. If you see the talent on her don't waist your time with recreational soccer or a lower competitive team, take her to a good club that has a good and organize soccer school with experience trainers and license coaches, this along taking her to summer soccer camps like Soccer Plus Camp, Nike Camp and Cal South ODP Camp and other University camps in your area.

It really wasn't what I thought. It was more of a news story with some bad language.I bought the DVD thinking it was a movie.
