| Movie Description Darby O'Gill (Albert Sharpe) is a man with the Irish gift of gab who finds himself face-to-face with the magical little people, the leprechauns, in an underestimated Disney classic. Unexpectedly, one of the old storyteller's tall tales comes true when he captures the King of the Leprechauns, who must grant him three wishes. Unfortunately, all the wishes backfire in amusing, and sometimes frightening, ways. This classic family film features the era's cutting edge special effects and beautiful Irish scenery.

Reviews  My favorite childhood movie. ( with young Sean Connery)Review created: 07/08/08 by:  A story containing many Irish Myths and otherworldly characters. Suitable for children age 7yrs up, as it can be a little scarey at times, for little one's. It is a must for anyone who loves Fairies etc. Or Sean Connery. I saw this movie as a child, living in the Isle of Man. 24miles from Ireland. Because we too believe in the little people (fairies etc.) I just loved it. A young Sean Connery, sings in it! Their is no animation, so I don't know how with the technology of the day it managed to create such realistic Leprechans etc. A story which contains many Irish myth's. It is a little scarey in places, propably suitable for age 7yrs & upward. A must for anyone who loves fairies and little people. Tells of the concequences of capturing a Leprechan.
