I bought the book after reading The Harlaquin. I got it in a lot of books by the author. I really liked this book. the author is a very descritive writer and I like the fact that she puts in a lot of descritons of the city because I also am from St. louis, Mo. If you like suspense, romance and horror in your book reading then you will really enjoy this book

Where Oh Where Has Anita Gone
Review created: 08/27/09

Alright...Where is Anita Blake and who is this person who has taken her place? I had read bad reviews of this book and some of them before this one and I thought...nah...no way. Hamilton wouldn't tamper with the best heroine ever. Anita is an icon. I love her relationship with Richard...well at least I did until he became a weiner extrodinaire. I love her relationship with Jean Claude... and Nathaniel, and Micah, and Jason, and so on. But this isn't Anita's style. Don't get me wrong. I don't want her to be a workaholic prude, but this book has blown Anita's characterization to smithereens. There is no substance to this story. No angle on what Anita is all about...a kick ass preternatural crime fighter and a necromancer to boot. This book is nothing more than moan and groan, bump and grind, and screaming orgasms...why is she always acreaming?... with hardly any story at all. "SIGH"...I miss the old Anita Blake...a lot. The books from Guilty Pleasures to Blue Moon were fantastic. I don't know, maybe Hamilton is just grinding them out now and has lost her edge as far as Anita is concerned. I'll continue to read the Blake series, always hoping that we'll get the old Anita back. FYI...Michelle Rodriguez would make an awesome Anita Blake...don't you think?

  Oh Anita, not again...

I think that this book in the series could have been a much better story to flesh out given the interesting characters of the dance company, but the ardeur and the time spent arguing over or accepting it gets to be a bit tedious...so, I am a reader of the series and will forgive much, but others may not...
