"Dangerous Beauty" is a complexly senusous story of a young woman who uses her beauty, power of seduction & intellect to deliberately defy traditional restrictions placed upon women during the 16th century, in Venice, Italy.
Veronica Franco (Catherine McCormack) is a bright young woman who deeply resents constrictive conventions placed upon women of her era. Veronica wants to pursue an education, own property & fulfill her other desires like men are permitted to do. Under the tutelage of her mother (Jacqueline Bisset), Veronica becomes a courtesan to rich & powerful men, since that's the only profession for a woman to earn enough money to afford her pursuits.
Veronica's choice may prove costly. Staying away from the nobleman (Rufus Sewell) she loves, could cost her a marriage. When the Inquistion charges her with witchcraft, Veronica could face that alone.
Filmed on location in Venice, the Renaissance period is beautifully depicted.
The story of the "Dangerous Beauty" of Veronica is a passionate, sumptuous redeeming Renaissance romance ~♥~.
Rated R, this film's runtime is 112 minutes~
