Dance The Night Away - Five Disc DVD Set (DVD, 2003)

I bought these DVDs to assist in my public school general music class. They are definitely useful in that they model each dance in a quick and easy fashion, but they video quality isn't great. But for the price, these DVDs are DEFINITELY good buy!

My Wife and I are taking ballroom dance as exercise and for fun. Trying to remember everything when we leave the class is tough, heck we're not getting any younger.lol
Anyway, when I saw this on E-bay, I checked one out of the local library and found it would be a perfect addition to our learning process.

The teaching on this set of discs is just as good as personal one on one teaching that you get in a class setting, the addition of actual music and going over the steps again and a again as shown on this set makes them very easy to learn from.

While we are still going to classes, we will play and learn from these discs as refreashers during the week when we are not in class.

This is a very worthwhile set to buy, in fact I'll go as far as to say that you should buy this set before you start taking lessons as much of what we have been taught in class is right here in these 5 dvds.

I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

Very thorough and easy to follow. About as good as you can get for dance instruction without having a teacher in the room with you.

we had a wedding to go to & this was the best & easiest way for us to learn. i originally signed up for dance lessons but owning the DVD & practicing on our schedule, in our pajamas, was perfect ! and dance lessons can be very expensive so this is defintely the way to go for us. i have 2 left feet & if this DVD can help me, it's good for all mankind !

I was searching for dance fitness workout dvd's and came across the Dance the Night Away Set. You can learn 50s,60s,70s,& 80s Dance steps.Also, includes ballroom,Latin,wedding,swing,country line dancing,partner dancing,& partner dancing-intermediate to advanced.I'm so glad I invested in these dvds, I love to dance and even though these aren't actually workout dvds to exercise with,just learning these dances is definetly a workout and a lot of fun!Anyone that wants to learn how to dance should own this set.

This is a boatload of beginning-level dance instruction at a bargain price.
This set has been great fun. I bought the set because I'm a ballroom dancer and wanted to get exposure to some other dance styles. A few observations:

- The ballroom instruction is very rudimentary, but OK to start with even though the waltz is flat-footed. You'll see some additional steps demonstrated in the "dance-party" segments. Another observant reveiwer commented on the outdated clothing. Fear not, the steps are exactly the same as what you'll get in a dance class in 2008.

- The Latin dance section is, again, limited, but instructor Greg Gale dresses it up with fine Cuban styling. His rumba has elegance and his salsa is plenty fun and spicey.

I've spent a lot of money on dance lessons, and still I don't dance well. These CDs are very inexpensive, and so much easier than taking conventional lessons......... With lessons, I would not really understand a lesson, and then be expected to practice what I didn't really know, plus, I'm a busy guy. I would go to the next lesson, and not even remember the previous lesson. With these CDs, I'm telly you, compared to lessons I've taken (private and group), the CDs are a breeze.............. I'm very happy with them.......

Got this to supplement a dance class my wife and I were taking. Very basic but easy to follow. There are so many different dances that even intermediate dancers are bound to pick up some tips. My only complaint is the acting and clothes look like a B-movie from the 70's (actually that may be a step up on the acting) but you weren't expecting Hamlet were you? Overall, very good for what it is; an easy way to learn or brush up on basic dances.

Easy to understand and easy to follow for a beginner, also a great refresher for an experienced dancer.

I bought this to give my kids something to do. Two of them like to dance...one wants nothing to do with it, but they can learn in the privacy of home. It's fun! The lessons are good. The one guy on ballroom dancing is pretty boring, but still a good teacher.

The dances were very easy to follow, had step by step instruction, and the instructors were very fluent in their ability to communicate. 4/5. Would recommend to others.

I don't know how the average dance instruction dvd goes, but it is a pleasure to use this one. It has clear instruction and a very wide variety of dances. Although there are some 50s and 60s dances, the majority of it is ballroom, latin and country. What a lot of fun!!

This DVD set has so much instruction for a very small price. If you want to learn how to dance, this is the set to buy!!! This is great!!

I am a beginner ball room dancer and find that instructions are very, very easy to follow. The instructions don't get flamboyant with their moves and they explain the steps very clearly.

great deal and fast delivery! Dvd's are as advertised. We see improvment in our dance practices already. Would recommend this product to any beginner looking for a place to start learning different dance steps.

Great variety of dances. Dance instructions are broken down in a way that makes it easy to learn. I teach dance to 12 and 13 year olds at a middle school who have no dance experience. This DVD collection has given me lots material that is easy enough for them to learn.

We only pick up few steps from this set. The rhumba, chacha and we like the tango all by Nancy Hays. The lesson was perfect I wished they showed more of the tango steps. I was looking for the continuation of Nancy Hays but it is not available in dvd. The other disc , partner dancing and the western dance we didn't care to learn. The version of Susan and Kyle's rhumba and chacha are very nice also. Our DVD disc swing was not working, seller offered to exchange but we did not take it 'cause we were in a hurry to learn the other dance. We both like Nancy Hays and Kyle was okay too

poor concept little use, not usefull , not helping only good for having some knowledge theoretically .

As beginners of dance learners, the contents are very nicely organized.
The disk set is just right for us.

We received this product quickly. We are very happy with this DVD set. This is a great way to learn to dance and it's nice to have the selection of so many different types of dancing. The service was great!

There were a couple of logistical problems but the seller was responsible and cleared obstacles accordingly. The DVDs are great!

I haven't had had an opportunity to view all the discs yet but what I have seen I have enjoyed. It has been very helpful so far.
