Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party 2 (Wii, 2008)

I got Wii last xmas.. The next week i picked up DDR Hottest party 2! Ive been playing it and unlocked all the songs, so I wanted to go back and see what songs hottest party 1 had. I have to say I like the songlist of HP1 better, altho "love shine" is a hard song to beat!

Some mats work with HP1, Will NOT work with HP2.. You need ADAPTERS..

I bought 2... just like original mats on ebay. Brand new, 1 inch thick foam.. awesome pads. they come in pairs for 29.99 free shipping! Also comes with 2 free adapters, and they are compatable for both DDR 1 and 2!

Its weird that the company Konami did that, I googled it and some said they did it coz the 3rd party pad makers were stealing sales...

Hp1: cool songs, love shine is a fun song to get "stuck" on.

Hottest party 2: saves it when you turn off nunchucks, you dont have to change it everytime you start the game.

Its actually better if you get DDR2 first, for the Wii its much more user friendly lol

HP2 u can unlock the option to use your Mii... lol

The Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2 (Wii) is awsome! However, 3rd party dance mats do not work. According to what I have learned on the official Konami website for this game, and the user forums, 3rd party mats are not recognized by the software! Thousands of bundles with 3rd party mats are being offered on Ebay and it seems that the ONLY sure choice for a mat that works is the official Konami mat. It is not a deluxe mat, and there is only one model. Konami allowed 3rd party mats to work with the earlier version, Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party. But, Hottest Party 2 is not compatible and will not recognize 3rd party mats. There is not allot of documentation on this. I have contacted Konami and have asked them to publish a public response on their website that is noted on the back of the game as well as Wikipedia. Wikipedia is getting information on this if you go to the main site for Wikipedia and type in HOTTEST_PARTY_2 you will be directed to a very informative site. So far, there are no official fixes. And, with so many 3rd party pads being manufactured in China, it is very hard to get any support or documentation.

I like that this game has multiple settings for beginners to experts. It allows me and my 4 year old son to play. Not much at this point that I dislike about it.

The game is great fun. The mat covers tear really easliy around the zippers. Not really sure how long they will last with kids jumping and playing with.

It's motivating and fun to watch others get involved in the moves. It allows for opportunities to have fun conversations with your family. I bought the Dance Dance Revolution for my daughter, but I actually use it more. I'm hoping to lose weight while learning some real dance moves.

i love the work out mode, its harder than the original ddr because you need to use the wii remote and numchuck. i dont like the music its well known songs but in kids bop mode. this game is great for kids but for adult gamers not so much. but better workout mode

I am still waiting on my purchase. Not only have I not received my purchase but I emailed the seller 3 times and they have not responded. I put in a claim with ebay (half moon) and I have not heard anything back from them. Basically, I gave $50 away. Never will I make a purchase again from half moon. I have had great experiences before with ebay. But this seller is a CROOK!

In DDR:HP2 there are more dancers to choose from, and you can even dress up your Mii with different costumes. I also feel the songs are more suited for DDR and are more fun to dance to compared to the first edition. I wish there were more songs though. I personally prefer to turn off all the 'gimmicks' and the nunchuck moves but you might enjoy it. Other than DDR for Wii I've only tried Pump It Up for the PC, so I can't say how it compares to DDR for Playstation or anything else. Overall it is a good DDR game that provides good exercise if you enjoy stepping to the rhythm.

I do NOT like it, I bought it for fun and exercise. My fourteen year old cannot even keep up with the movements, which does not make it fun or good exercise. I wish we had never bought it.

The game was reaaly good. My family liked it. For the discription it said that it was used but it was new with a really good price. This is a great product!

I found this too hard to play. I gave up trying after five attempts. I bought it for the exercise but went back to my Wii Fit which I love and play every day.

Being summer and with the kids home ALL the time sitting on their bottoms; thought this would get people moving.

In a fun; interactive way you can get your heart pumping and your whole family dancing.

There is a workout mode for those wanting to break out in a sweat,
there is a multi-person mode so the kids/people over won't be fighting to play next.

There is also a hand motion portion of the game which was new to me.
It's really fun being able to move your hands too; before it would be clinched by my side while dancing.

Definitely suggest getting the game with the dance matt too; otherwise it is just a regular game.

I used to have DDR on playstation but sold them when I got my Wii. My husband let me purchase a few of the new DDR for the Wii. I was able to go to groove modes and unlock songs. I'm not an active person and I have heel spurs and this works great getting my cardio in and it doesnt even bother my feet. I love it. It can go from beginner to expert so my kids, ages 8-14 can play with me too. I would definitely recommend this for anyone trying to get some exercise in or just wanting to play for fun. Great for family activities

this game will give you a good work out if you are lazy dont buy this game.You are constantly moving you never get to sit down.

It is pretty good... It looks a lot like the other one.... IT is mostly the same as dance dance revolution 1. Good songs and the avatars are the same too... It is a great workout.

We love the items and the price is cheap, but quality is not bad. I will buy again in near future. Shipping is fast and easy. Received in a good condition.

I used DDR at work once and fell in love with it. We wanted something that would help us get up off the couch and get moving without going outside in over 100 degree temperatures, and this game did the trick. It has a training mode so you can get used to the game, and several difficulty levels so you can choose the one that's right for you. The mat is well made and very responsive to the dance steps.

The only thing I dislike is that the mat can be a little slippery, as we found out when our daughter decided to try Expert and slid off the mat and landed head first in an exercise bike. No damage to either daughter or bike, but it was pretty scary!
