Dana's Valley by Janette Oke, Laurel Oke Logan (2001, Paperback)

I've read many of Janette Oke's books, but none by her daughter, Laurel. I bought it just to see if I'd like it. I was pleasantly surprised. I loved it!! I felt like I became part of Dana's family, and hated when the book was over. I wanted to keep experiencing life with them. The emotions each family member went through while walking through "Dana's Valley" were very true to life. This book was definitely worth the time spent reading it.

I loved this story it started out just a good story you wondered where it might go and after a few chapters I just couldn't put it down I had to know what was next and so on and so on, till the last oh about 2-3 chapters, and then I had to read to the end and I did so out loud to myself and the tissue box better be close by I finish the book with the tears blurring my vision till I just shook them away from my eyes and let them run ,I think it was one of the most real stories I've read for fiction work you would swear, you knew the family personally; so personally you'll think they are your family! I suggest anyone looking for a great down to earth book that you can read and fall in love with a family who starts out as strangers and end up sitting around your kitchen table or living room maybe even under your own Christmas tree. This is the book for your. There is such love and faith between these pages you can't help but get caught up in the storms of this families life but beyond their valley and yours is life's abundant joy and I recommend it highly no matter where in your life journey you are be it on a mountain top or deep in the valley of sorrow, maybe just midway across a plateau this book is for you.
