Damnation (Xbox 360, 2009)

Don't be fooled by the 4/5 rating this game somehow has on this page!

There is really only one place to begin... Damnation is just not a good game. The story is irrevelent and dumb, the boss fights are easy, the driving sequences are awful, controls arent great, enemy AI is extremely stupid, your partners are terrible, graphics are so-so and the levels are extremely long.

This game is first and foremost a shooter. There is alot of platforming involved also. I guess to compare it to some games would include, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Prince of Persia, and Assassin's Creed. The game is nowhere as good as any of the before mentioned games, not even close, but the game is a mix of them.

The game also has it's share of driving sequences. Also note that driving sequences have you defying gravity many times. There is not always a clear way to go and you will just fall to your death sometimes. The checkpoints aren't terrible far away, but why play this more than you have to? The camera angle is bad also in driving sequences and no, you cannot change it.

If you do decide to get this game, get used to the following:
Enemies to fight. Lots of platforming. Long (not always clear or marked) driving sequences. Partner does something stupid and dies. Rinse and repeat.

I guess if you are into achivements, this is a pretty easy game to get them all on. Easier even if you use the cheat codes to unlock Insane difficulty and play once thru on co-op (but really by yourself). Co-op by yourself is actually pretty easy, considering you can revive your partner/teammate from just about anywhere on the map.

Overall, this game earns a hearty 1/5 rating. Do not waste your time buying this peice of garbage, but if you must play it, rent it or borrow it from a friend (who unfortunately owns it for some reason).
