Earnhardt Collector's Guide

This book was published in 2000, so it's a bit dated. Unfortunately, Dale lost his life shortly thereafter. Still, with that being said, most of his cars are represented in this book.
The number one reason to purchase this book is for the list of diecast cars that covers his career from 1975-2000. Most of the different scales, paint schemes, variations, etc. are presented here. Additionally, there are lists of pit wagons, transporters, banks, trains, etc. There are values given for most of the cars, but this is subjective. Ebay auction prices will give you a far better idea of what your collection might be worth. About 90 pages of diecast.
The number two reason to purchase this book is for the list of trading cards. This is not my thing, but if it's yours, the lists are quite extensive. About 20 pages of cards.
The book also touches on other Earnhardt collectibles, but doesn't go into any kind of detail like it does with the diecast and the cards. This leaves lots of opportunity for a new book to be printed in the future. Tons of items have been produced over the years and if you've ever done a search for Earnhardt on ebay, you know any given day will produce over 15,000 hits.
As a novice Earnhardt collector with about 100 1:64 scale cars, this book was a nice starting point for me. It sold new for $14.95 in 2000, but used copies can be had for as little as $2 on ebay. Even as a dated, limited information book, it was money well spent. Recommended.
