The Daily Walk Bible - NIV

The point of The Daily Walk Bible is to read through the Bible in 1 year. Every day there is a reading scheduled. This reading schedule takes the reader from Genesis straight through to Revelation. Some Bible reading programs jump around and have you read a selection in the Old Testament and the New Testament, or some other schedule. The only exception the Daily Walk Bible makes, is on December 25th. On this day the normal Bible reading schedule is replaced by the reading of the two Gospel accounts of our Lord's birth, Matthew 1:18 - 2:12 and Luke 2:1 - 10.
At the beginning of each days reading there are three brief sections, "Overview," "Your Daily Walk," and "Insight." These sections are followed by the Scripture reading for that day.
Overview: Provides a preview of the Bible reading for the day. A convenient chart also summarizes the main ideas of the Scripture section.
Your Daily Walk: This section encourages you to think carefully about one scriptural insight from the day's reading and offers you specific ways to put the truths you read into action in your own life. Principles from God's Word are explained practically to help you successfully cope with life today.
Insight: This section brings to light a fascinating scriptural or historical fact to build your total Bible knowledge.
Every seventh day, you have the opportunity to pause and rest with a special devotional reviewing the past several days' readings. After you "Look Back" at the broad sweep of your reading for the previous week, you can "Look Up" at God and consider what he wants to say to you through his Word and "Look Ahead" at what's to come. It's also a great time to catch up if you've missed a day.
There is a helpful introductory page for each of the sixty-six books of the Bible. This is a concise overview of the background and purpose of each book and is followed by a chart summarizing its content and flow.
This Bible is a study Bible, but does not contain a concordance, maps, etc. In the front there is an index to the books of the Bible as well as a Table of Weights and Measures, which is a handy reference.
Overall, I love this Bible! I have had my Daily Walk Bible for almost 7 years now. It has been read through several times, it has been written in (my study notes, as well as the mischievious writings of toddlers), and it has endured many domestic as well as international trips. This Bible has stood up well to the daily use and "abuse" it has endured at the hands airlines and toddlers. It has become a integral part of my time in the Word.
