The Daily Bible (1999, Paperback, Revised)

So you'd like to read the Bible but don't know where to start. Maybe you've started somewhere other than Genesis but you don't know what happened before where you started so you don't know why it's happening. I've wanted to read the Bible for a long time but didn't know where to start - so a chronological Bible just made sense. I wanted to know what happened when - a time line. Thats what this Bible does, it gives you a time line on the history of the early world. It puts together on a time line all those wonderful bible stories we've heard in Sunday school. Reading this Bible in a chronological order makes you realize that there is a cohesiveness to all the books of the Bible - that it would be impossible even for one man over his whole life to write a book of truth like this book much less several people over a period of 2000 yrs.
Anyway, I've read this Bible for over 5 yrs now (5 times through the Bible!!) and am still discovering new truths everyday. This is an awesome book of truth - so much so that I buy them on eBay and give them away to friends who are interested in reading the Bible.
Read this book. Set back some God time, just a few minutes each day. In no time you'll know why THE FLOOD happened; how the nation of Israel started; what Samson was really like; how David became king; who this Jesus is and so much more. This will be the most important "novel" you'll ever read. I promise it will change your life!

I purchased this wonderful, easy reading, and every day understanding Daily Bible Book, for my daughter. I have one already( which was my Mother's) and am so impressed with the book. It is written for people to really understand the speakings of God and be able to read the Bible. I find myself reading more than the daily verses. The Bible has the most interesting stories and I can now relate to all the different religions around the world.

Who can say anything but good about the Bible? I believe what I read in it more than anything else in this whole world! When I read it I feel that I am there! I may not believe what I see with my own eyes, or hear with my own ears, but I believe the Bible! It guided my parents through their lives right through the valley of the shadow of death! It has guided me for 67 years and it has never led me wrong, never caused me to hurt anyone, never made me sad, mad or hopeless. It has been my guiding light, my joy, my peace, my anchor, my everything! It worked for our daughter when she crossed death's valley due to breast cancer, it is working for our other children in the problems they face! It has worked for four generations in my lifetime. I think I'll keep it!

I was intrigued by the chronological order - that's very different from other Bibles. I've been reading this for the last month - I find the daily reads to be very manageable - even though I'm still in the law and orders section of the Bible. I like the short descriptions written between each sections - it's a brief discussion of what's to be covered and how it was put together. This Bible is the New International Version which is easier to to read than the King James version but still retains some of the grandeur of that older edition. This book is a great way to get a devotion and Bible reading into each and every day. An you never really know what God will do in your life when you spend daily time with His Word.

Am very interested in learning more about the Bible....I do wish the print were a bit larger...A little hard to read...

I like the Chronological Bible because it keeps the Biblical events in the order they occured. When younger, it confused me to read the Old Testament because it would move to new people then go back to previous ones and so I had trouble keeping them straight. I also like that it is broken down into daily readings and gives commentaries on that days reading. I had bought one for myself at the first of the year and bought one on ebay for a gift.

We have not started reading our bibles, we will start on January 1st, But
