DXG DXG-308 3.0 Megapixel / 6.6 Megapixel (interpolated)

We bought this as a beginner camera for our 8 yr old daughter and it's just about perfect for her. The pictures are not very good quality, but they are clear and she likes them. It has a huge shutter delay and takes forever to load pictures for viewing so just download them to your PC to review. The flash is really really harsh - I tried putting a couple layers of tape over it to tame it down, but it didn't help much. This camera is best for outdoor natural light snapshots.

This was a nice inexpensive camera I got for myself to take anywhere because it is small and I didn't want to use my larger more expensive camera.

Cons:
Slow! It takes a couple seconds to turn on... take a picture ... save the picture. You probably need about 5-10 seconds between each shot.
Grainy pictures... the pictures were grainy for a 3MP camera. The pictures seemed to be of only web quality. Don't get this if you looking for a camera to print Quality photos... this is more a snapshot camera.

I purchased the DXG-308 3.0 Megapixel camera I wasn't sure if it would be able to live up to my previous camera that had died while on vacation. I was quite impressed with the picture quality and easy use of it. It was a little hard to get use to the menu fuctions but I think that was because I was so used to my old camera. This was a good purchase and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't feel that they need to invest 100's of dollars in a camera.

I purchased this camera as a beginner camera for my eight-year-old daughter as a Christmas present. It's small enough for her to handle easily; has a built-in flash; a good size LCD display; accepts memory cards; came with the TV out cord so we'll all be able to watch videos she makes; and included everything (CD, USB and TV out cords, manual, and limited one-year manufacturer's warranty.) Since she's only a budding photographer and will not actually be printing that many pictures (she'll mostly want to save them on the PC) it seems like the picture quality will not be an issue. All in all, I'd say this is a great camera for the price and purpose!
