DK Eyewitness Travel Guides China by Dk (2005, Paperback)

I loved the Eye Witness guide to China--It has provided true insight into the trip my husband and i are taking to China in a few weeks and I appreciated the condition as well s the promptness in sending the book out.Thanks to you.

I've always been a fan of DK Eyewitness Travel Guide books. They have great pictures and illustrations. Easy to understand directions, descriptions and maps. Great detail information such as what the country's money looks like, what the goverment officials wear, what the emergency vehicles look like, etc. Just great all around! I highly recommend any of DK Eyewitness Travel books for your travel needs.

I actually found this book in a book store and it was quite expensive so I decided to check Ebay and Half.com for a bargain. My husband has done work over in China and that was why I decided to purchase it for him as a Christmas gift.

We have been to China four times. Our daughter has adopted children from there. I really like this book, because it tells about the "out of way" places, as well as well known places. I liked the maps. They are not terribly detailed, due to space, but give all of the main roads, etc. We referred to this book a lot. We keep it near our dictionary and find ourselves referring to it a lot, due to our Granddaughter's ties to China and the friends we have made there. The pictures are beautiful. I bought a copy for my daughter, also. I do not hesitate to recommend this book.

I like these guides because they give a three dimentional look at the sights and recomends the best places to see. It includes all I need to know about getting around, bus schedules, trains, local transport, the local food and lots of history. The only thing I don't like is it only refers to the high end priced hotels and restaurants. I prefer to go budget. It is very easy to find the most expensive of anything but very hard to find the good budget places.
