DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution (PlayStation 2, 2002)

I had a blast doing this with my 14 and 10 year old Christmas eve. Next thing we knew it was 1:00 in the morning. Great calorie burner too!

I love the fact that I can play a game AND burn calories at the same time! The only thing I would say I dont like about this game is the older graphics, but for the purpose it serves well.

I bought this for myself thinking it would be a good way to start moving and grooving some calories off. OH MAN!!! I was right. this is so much fun! within a week my 7 and 11 year old daughters are on it and yesterday my 5 year old asked to get on it.
I was intimidated by it at first but once you get the settings right it's a blast.
The best part for me is that I can set my own calories I want to burn in workout mode. Then choose song after song until i've met my goal LOVE THAT!
You will amaze yourself at how quick you get good too. i'm still on the easy mode but i'm trying faster beats in different songs!

This one is a must for all DDR fans. There are fun songs and I enjoy this game fully. Make sure you get this game if you like DDR.

I have supervova and DDRextreme 2. I found this one to be boring and slow but it is fun anyway. Not the best one.

Great way to exercise. This keep you moving and dancing. The music is upbeat and with a continous beat. Can do lots of sweating.

My daughter has played this game, and she loves it, we do not own the game at this time, but I am looking in to buying one.

I bought this for my grandson who does not have anyone his age in my neighborhood to play with. He goes to his Dad on the weekends but I have him all week. It is now part of his regular routine so I can be sure that he is getting some exercise along with his straight A honor roll! Exercise that body along with your mind!

I just bought DDR for my kids. Like most of their age group they have three major problems: 1) they are sedentary because their main interest is playing computer games, 2) they are overweight and out of shape (see above reason). and 3) they would rather do almost anything other than play with their mother. DDR has the potential to at least reduce these three problems.

DDR is a computer based game (we have the PS2 variety) which is played not with the fingers, but with the feet - the idea is to place your feet on the correct location of the dance pad at the precise time required by the game. This means that the kids are up on their feet and moving to play the game but that is not all! It encourages the kids to absorb concepts of beat, rhythm, and precision in order to get extra points in order to unlock extra tracks. There is also the ability for individual or competitive play, and while the competititors must play the same song, they can play at differing levels, so lame old Mom can compete foe a high score (at beginner level) against teenage daughter (or son) at a more difficult level.
Don't give up, though, it gets even better. For those who, for one reason or another, cannot physically play the game, they can still compete against their more mobile friends by plugging in a regular game controller, and still playing but with their fingers - clearly, for fairness, they would be playing a much more difficult level but the fun is still there! My kids have already had several DR parties where they take turns attempting to get better, and more difficult songs mastered.
Add into the mix, that when I am home alone, and I need of some exercise, I can turn on the machine, set it for workout mode, decide how many calories I want to burn, or how many minutes I want to workout, choose the level of play, and have a much more enjoyable exercise time than I would at a gym!
I would strongly recommend this game for anyone who is concerned that they or their children are spending too much time on their rear end playing games.

This is a game that is sweeping the continent in arcades. Ain't it great that you can bring it, and your children home for good clean fun, again!!

My kids wanted it for christmas so we went on Ebay to purchase it and the mats and we found it at a good price. I have seen kids in the malls playing it and it is the same at home as at the mall just less stress no waiting in line or people you don't know watching you. A fun thing for birthday parties or just friends hanging out. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!

My daughter had been asking for this game for awhile. They have a blast with it! It's just not sitting in front of a tv either, it let them get great exercise while having fun! I recommend it to anyone with young teens! They will have a blast!

My son is the one who really likes these dance games. He has them all & has alot of fun playing them .It is a great way to exercise & a great way to loose some weight .His age is 14. All his friends like these games also.

I loved that it was brand new and cheaper than the store price. I bought it because i love playing it

I love the fact that this is a game that gets the heart pumping and incorporates excerize and fun in one game. I watch my daughter dance and become more and more confident when she learns something new. If she has a friend over we hook up the extra dance pad and they both laugh and try harder versions of the dances. I do wish they had more updated songs that the girls know so they stay in step better, but they are learning new things and having fun being children. That's what it's all about. There will be plenty of time for grown up activities later in life.

We actually Decided to buy it, because we wanted a fun way to work out- And it definitely does work you out!

This game is great for both the young kids and the big kids. My daughter loves to dance to the tunes with her friends and it gives her a large variety of music to choose from. I like it for the exercise and can find plenty of music for myself. We can do it together using both our dance mats and set the level so she can do it her way (advanced) and I can do it my way (beginner). There is enough variety in the music that we can settle on something we both like. My daughter is 8 and the music and levels are appropriate for her age group as well as adults.

I used to play this game a long time ago with my friends. We were always competing and trying to get better. While trying to get a higher score, we were working out to a fun and interactive based game. I HATE the "Wii" and would never own a system like it, but I love this game because it give you a change to be active by choice. A+

I liked the game itself, there were pretty good songs. I disliked that there weren't a lot of songs. I bought it just to play it.

It's fun, and you can exercise to it. I love to play it and will probably soon invest in another game similar to this one.

i loved this game and how quickly i got it instead of buying many games with only one genre of music this game had it all. i love DDR and i will be buying more game soon.

Very easy to understand with different levels to challenge you, or allow the less cordinated to play along. If you have an extra dance mat, this game also allows to either dance with a friend, or against.
Very fun way to work out, with fun music. Wish there was more 'known' American music, but the game is still entertaining.
I have this one, DDRMax 2, and and one of the other ones (I can't remember the name).

I recieved them quickly. Had GREAT communication with the seller. They arrived in fantastic shape. I love them. My kids like to play with each other or against me (I ordered them for me for weight loss)! I enjoy using it alone when they are gone but I especially enjoy using it WITH them! I gives us something that we can do together! It especially comes in handy when we have a severe snow/ice storm and they are house bound for any length of time! They can burn off some of that energy instead of just "vegging" in front of the computer or TV!
