D-link DI-604 Router (109524)

I like it that it is small.. I like the Brand of the item.. D-Link is one of the Best Products.. I like to use it because I have many computers in the home... it is the only 1 I can use for a Video Phone to work.. This item should be bought.. Now that it is Discontinued.. You should buy something similar to this product... Any Models that are DI should be bought. it has a security so no one can hack your Router unless they know your password and user name... They dont have a wireless for this particular model .. they should start making them...

This D-Link DI-604 router does every thing it is supposed to. I needed a router to set up my computer system. I needed 3 ports and this unit has 4 ports. It works exactly as advertised. In fact it is a better router than the more expensive router it replaced. I highly reccommend this unit.

This is an older model router that is out of production however with that said I have purchased several for resale locally when customers do not want to spend the money on newer retail. overall i have had good luck with this router, if you pick one up on ebay and it isnt working correctly crashing, restarts etc. change the power supply its 5v and a pretty common failure point on many older dlinks.

Very easy router to operate and set up and plenty fast. Has enough ports for an at home set up and the possiblity to add a wireless access point.

I had a brand new Linksys VPN router with extended wireless access point but had nothing but problems with it. I have had great experience with D-Link products at work so I bought this for home and suddenly, all my routing problems dissappeared. The VPN Pass-Thru actually works without having to reboot the router and I finally have the speed and reliability I need in a network device.

D-Link is now my preferred networking manufacturer over Linksys and Netgear.

i love that i can work on my computer in another room so i can spend more time with my family i can be in the same room with them and work on the conputer. before i was in the small room by myself. not fun.

Make sure you understand that this is NOT WIRELESS. Some have made that mistake because it looks identical to other D-link wireless routers. That being said. It is a router and does it's job. Not the easiest to set up. In fact, I hope you don't have to do anything at all on the setup. Good luck if you do.

The router speed is good and easy to set up with a hard line. When used in conjunction with some wireless units it is a little more difficult, but not much. Customer support is very helpful.

I've been using it for over 2 years. No major complains, and would still recommend it for a new buyer.
what i really like about it, is that its stable most of the time. I've had a few problems, maybe 2 times a year, and with the software of this router. Doesn't have any other major bugs. And i'd recommend it. I got 4 computers running on it and it seems to manage all of them with fairness. Looks nice, and doesn' take up too much space or produce too much heat.
Got the basics, and is more than fair for that price.

This is really a nice router if you are using for mainly home use and no wireless. I have used this router for about 4 years now. the only thing that I have found that was not good about it is how secure the firewalls and filtering are on it. Truthfully I would rather have the Linksys WRT54G. The Linksys has a firewall on it that has never been cracked, unlike this D-Link.

but this purchase was worth of every minute and second that i've waited and every penny that i spent

I had a hard time choosing three major router brands: Linksys, D-Link or Netgear. I decided to go with D-Link and got this model and the router works great. I got my single PC and Xbox360 hooked up to it. No lag or disconnects. Xbox Live compatible. The firewall features is working good. Also the setup is easy.

D-Link is an excellent router. When I first bought this I could not install the software. I connected the cords and attach the antennea. The software was beyond my knowledge I went online to get help from D-Link. They had a site that guided me step by step. It actually let you know if it was installed and running. This was fantastic because I did not understand by reading how to set it up. I installed the card on my laptop and in minutes it was working. I only had to push the reset button on the D-Link
router for it to install and start the laptop card working.
This is an excellent router I have not had any problems with it not staying connected to the internet. It does not knock out unless the internet goes out and then it automatically reconnects when the internet is working again.
The cost is low and so are the cards for your other computers. Just remember when installing a new router or cards for the laptop or other computers to uninstall any cards from a previous card or router. You will have all kinds of problems setting up the cards and router if you do not take off the old ones first.
I highly recommend D-Link for it's quality and the troubleshooting help on their support site.

This is a great router, good travel router without the heafty price tag on it. On a typical cable connection broadband you can setup with all password changes, and security in about 5 minutes. Its faster than the Linksys I think too.
