D.A.R.Y.L review

I love this film for many reasons but I think it primarily captures for me the atmosphere of growing up as a boy in the 80's. I've heard the film is considered a Sci-Fi but in my opinion its more like a family film focused on raw basic human emotions of childhood, friends, love and family and what it means to be human. The human element. Daryl a kind of android child learns what it means to be human finding real emotions and a family, but then is ripped away from his home, family, and friends, forced into a very sterile un-friendly environment. I believe this symbolizes how I and many others feel our society is today, cold and sterile. There are strong emotions conveyed in the film of a longing I think many people feel, to go home to the way it "used to be" in a subjective sense. A better time focused around joys of Life and love of friends and family. Latter in the movie things begin to change powerfully through the world's fastest jet that romantically Screams through the air, symbolic of a better era of true engineering and innovation that has past but now comes roaring powerfully to reclaim the Truth and what has been lost! With the innocence of a child behind it to wake us all up and bring us all back home again. The music throughout the film creates a sense of longing and wanting to belong and to come home. The music as Daryl returns home and following into the credits speaks very directly of these emotions. "where amI going I've been lost so long" "Somewhere i belong" "waking up in emptiness alone-" "open your arms to me" It is a heart warmed Up-beat Film, and Barret Oliver (Daryl) dose a wonderful job. If you grew up as a child in the 80's and or like a good heart warmed movie, you will likely enjoy this film on some level.
