DIDN'T WANT TO SEE THIS BOOK END!!

This books captures you from the first page. It's a great story. I would recommend this book without reservation. At the end, I started to read the book slower as I "didn't want it to end." If you are looking for a great book to read, this is the ONE!

I heard about the author of Cutting For Stone on a public radio review. I was impressed with him and thought this was a book that I would like to read.

  Cutting for Stone
Review created: 06/02/09

I purchased Cutting for Stone because it was my book clubs selection for May, 2009.

I really enjoyed reading this book because it told me things I did not know about the country it took place in, the lives of the people and how they managed day to day living in a country teeming with unjustice and poverty, plus it had medical aspects which I find interesting as well.

I would recommend this read to any book club member or individual. It probably would not have been a book I would have picked up on my own but enjoyed reading it.

I thought this book was absolutely fabulous and have recommended it to several people. There was so much to learn with all the medicinea and the recent African history in the book, but, yet, it was so enjoyable. Outstanding.

  Moving Story of Twin Brothers
Review created: 04/06/09

Having read the author's non-fiction book, A Country of My Own, I was eager to read his first novel. I was not disappointed. This is good old fashioned storytelling at its best. The characters were fully drawn and the plot keeps the reader fully engaged. In addition, there were many things that I learned about medicine and Ethiopia. If you like books such as The Kite Runner, you will enjoy this book, too.
