Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese M.D. (2009, Hardcover)

This books captures you from the first page. It's a great story. I would recommend this book without reservation. At the end, I started to read the book slower as I "didn't want it to end." If you are looking for a great book to read, this is the ONE!

I heard about the author of Cutting For Stone on a public radio review. I was impressed with him and thought this was a book that I would like to read.

I purchased Cutting for Stone because it was my book clubs selection for May, 2009.

I really enjoyed reading this book because it told me things I did not know about the country it took place in, the lives of the people and how they managed day to day living in a country teeming with unjustice and poverty, plus it had medical aspects which I find interesting as well.

I would recommend this read to any book club member or individual. It probably would not have been a book I would have picked up on my own but enjoyed reading it.

Have not received despite my inquiries. Have I been ripped off? I paid promptly and now the seller has disappeared.

I thought this book was absolutely fabulous and have recommended it to several people. There was so much to learn with all the medicinea and the recent African history in the book, but, yet, it was so enjoyable. Outstanding.
