Custer's fall: The indian side of the story

I have read several books on Custer and the Little Big Horn fight. I believe that this book is the only honest one that has Custer being shot trying to cross the river by the village down Medicine Tail Coulee, and being hauled up to last stand hill, where his body was found. I don't recall Custer ever retreating before, his beeing shot was the only thing that would cause the troops to retreat, and the only reason it turned into a rout. Custer died toward the beginning of the fight-not at the end. Custer not taking his scouts warnings about more indians than they thought sealed his fate. Attacking before they had planned in the following morning was a big error. Splitting his troops in three weakened his force drastically. I have visited the Little Big Horn battlefield many times, it is a very interesting place, and an easy area to be overwelmed by hostiles. I think that it is time that we admit the truth of what is in this book compaired to what we have been told thru-out history.
