Good for a MP3 beginner.

Got this little device for Christmas. I have close to 100 songs on it and it is saying memory of 1.5 left - pretty good I thought. It's pretty easy to get the music on the device with the use of Windows Media player - it does come with a driver CD if you need to install something different. Downloads are also fairly quick! Ease of use could be a bit better - I have a heck of a time getting the little gadget to turn off, one of those things you have to hold the play button down for an extended period to get it to shut off. It types out BYEBYE on the screen when powering off, I have found that you have to wait until almost the whole word is typed before letting go of the button or it does not power down. Also, there are buttons on both sides - its hard to hold and hit specific buttons on one side - most notable the volume. There is a skip ever so often on the songs - listen one time its there, next its not - so its not my CD downloads - also somthing similar to this is the volume of the songs - same CD - same download - some songs are very quite/loud compared to others - when listening to the CD its not this way. The backlighting is pretty cool - there are several different color options so that you can pick the color that you can see best or color you like best, it also has an option where it changes the backlight color every time the backlight comes on. Overall, I'd say for the price and to see if you really really want and would use a MP3 player - this would be good for that reason. Probably not exactly what a perfectionist or a true music lover would really want.
