Album Notes
Boston's Vanna play spirited hardcore with literate lyrics, eloquent metal guitar squeals, and a surprising undergirding of melody. After a number of promising EPs, their exhilarating debut album is a confident statement of metalcore purpose, with hints of alternate directions to come. While songs like "Magnetic Knives" bear all the screamo watermarks, "The Things He Carried" verges on classic rock and the demented "We Ate the House" is an eccentric fling with prog-punk.
