Currant Events, Uneventful

Starting with Spell for Chameleon, Piers Anthony led us on a fun filled journey across the land of Xanth. Now with Currant Events, we are more or less trudging back and forth, there is no flow to where the characters are going. The original books had a map in the front and you could follow on the map as the story moved along. If you tried to do that with Currant Events, it would be like trying to watch a pinball. They not only bounce back and forth across Xanth but through several of Ida's moons. The puns are more mundane and unlike the beginning books where you met the characters first and found out their magic talent at a later time, each character's talent is addressed as they introduce them selves.
On the up side, we get to meet some new characters of both human and magical species. As the Xanth series has aged so has the maturity level of their content. It is not such a taboo, to talk about the adult conspiracy.
If you are an avid Piers Anthony, Xanth fan, this is a must read to keep up with the series. If you are looking at this book as being the first Xanth book that you have ever read, it will probably be your last. It will be hard to follow and very confusing.
