Most usually, I tend to watch a movie from start to finish, this film was a bit slow paced in the first parts but soon began to pick up closer to the middle part of the film. A common tag-line for this film is that "..Life isn't measured in minutes but in moments" and "I was born under unusual circumstances".

While the film was still being shot, the computer software graphics that helped Benjamin Buttons transform throughout the film was still being designed. The CGI technology changes daily. Brad Pitt's character seemed so real that it was scary.

The elemental irony of this film typically would make anyone wonder how it is like to live in someone else's shoes, especially from the standpoint of the elderly. Myself, being past the point of young and entering into middle age, one senses a deep sense of a powerful hand directing life at every turn. The word destiny or fate always seems to make me wonder about certain monumental defining moments in my life. If those things in life that I forced myself to do and be may have been a lot more exact if I hadn't let my emotions get the best of me. However, not a one of us could say that we know for "one cotton-picking minute" what's going to happen to us all next. That's the wonderment of this film. It usually is best taught to us if we only just experience the story and let our stubbornness and self out of the picture and just live.

The characters of Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett were very believable and in love, which is tremendously powerful on film.

Screenplay giant, Eric Roth, who gave us Forrest Gump finished this film with a peaceful message about life when he put to film, his greatest moments by say:

"Some people were born to sit by a river.
Some get struck by lightning.....
Some have an ear for music.......
Some are artists.................
Some Swim........................
Some know buttons................
Some know Shakespeare............
Some Are Mothers.................
.....and some people Dance......." Thanks Eric Roth....

It was a most unusually rare experience to find humanity once again.

I'll give this film a 4/5 even though I'm not sure I'll ever be able to sit through it again.

IF YOU LIKE MY MOVIE REVIEWS PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO LET ME KNOW BY VOTING. THANKS.

I love Brad Pitt as an Actor - so I was loking forward to seeing this film. It was a moving tale of TRUE LOVE, Benjamin loved life and lived to love ONE woman. And Cate's character at the end only truly loved ONE man! They both made very difficult decisions throughout the movie but at the end they were there for each other. But the end left me wanting more wondering if an alternate ending would have been better. This movie leaves you with a newfound appreciation of what life has to offer.

ENJOY it - I did!

  REVERSE AGING OF A MAN-CHILD

Features Actors:Brad Pitt,Joeanna Sayler,Jason Flemyng,Taraji P. Henson
Running Time:167 Min.
Rating:PG-13

Mortality and loneliness revolves around a baby (Brad Pitt) born old who grows younger over the course of his life. The film opens in New Orleans at the end of the First World War where we find Benjamin's mother (Joeanna Sayler) dying during childbirth being followed by his father's (Jason Flemyng) wrapping the inexplicably-aged infant in swaddling clothes and secretly depositing him on the back steps of the local old folks' home. Fortunately, he is immediately adopted by Miss Queenie (Taraji P. Henson), a selfless, mammy-like figure who altruistically decides to care for him the best she can.
Although her odd-looking, little octogenarian is initially beset by an assortment of infirmities, Queenie can't help but notice that there is something which sets Benjamin apart from the rest of the residents at her assisted living facility. For, while they continue to deteriorate and die, he miraculously has his vitality restored, and gradually gets back his hearing, eyesight, hair, and so forth.
Eventually, Benjamin not only feels fairly spry, but independent enough to bid Queenie and company adieu and sets out to explore the world on his own. And with an uncanny sense of timing rather reminiscent of a Forrest Gump, he proceeds to embark on an epic journey which lands him in the middle of a number of events of historical import over the ensuing decades, such as a World War II naval battle and a NASA rocket launch. Button's reverse aging theme is unique, allowing for a sufficiently novel plotline which proves compelling when you factor in special effects and the Oscar-nominated performances of Brad Pitt and Taraji Henson.

Truely one of a kind movie, very original!Great acting & effects!Hope this helps you decide. Thanks for reading! :)

This movie is an inpsiring love story that will seriously make you think at the end of it. It changed my views on the way I live my life and also how you need to enjoy life and the moments it gives you. The taglive that said "Life is measured in moments not seconds" is completely true. If you have not seen this movie I would highly recommend it. This movie should of won more Oscars and although it didn't, you shouldnt judge it based on that.

F. Scott Fitzgerald originally wrote this tale as a short story. The movie version with Brad Pit is a lengthy film, but follows the story line that
Fitzgerald used fairly well. The outstanding assets in the film were not only
Pitt and the other stars excellent portrayals, but the unique make-up for which the film won an oscar. Is it a believable story? Possibly not. But, in the
genre of science-fiction, it is unbeatable. I enjoyed the dvd and will watch
it again because in a film of this sort, you always see things you missed in
the first running. All in all I would rate it AAA.

I was very passionate about this story. I loved the concept of starting out old and becoming younger..we can all start out a bit smarter this way and not make so many mistakes..however really the story was very compeling and showed how one has to struggle to move in life..
I loved the story line, like the time era for the setting and disliked the way it was so slow in progressing..I bought it becuase of the story and the actors in in and thought they did a heck of a job...

I really liked this movie. Amazing what can be done with make-up. A beautiful love story. I kind of got the feeling they were trying to go along the lines of the movie The Notebook. But In my opinion ,nothing yet has topped that movie! Make sure you watch till the end!!

I like this movie. It lives life backwards so that one can see and feel what is happening in reverse. It is a concious look at old age and youth and the misfortunes and fortunes that are part of life. See this movie, think about it and then see it again. Benjamin Buttons is born old and yet every year he gets younger. His father gives him away and leaves him to live with a poor black women who becomes his mother. He learns the lessons of life from old people who live in the home for the aged. He learns to care and to let go from the older people who have had the experiences of life and love. This is a great movie. You will like it.

This movie was so well done, excellent. I was gripped from beginning to end, and even though it seemed sad at the end, he was still in love with her.
I enjoyed it immensely and thought the acting of the old man was amazing!
I can't tell you about it as it would spoil it for you but it is well worth seeing.

  Excellent Title & Appropriate

From beginning to end the story is excellent as it tells of Benjamin's early beginning to his startling ending. Benjamin was born old in appearance with all of its age related ailments, and he reversed the process as time went on. In between it all, Benjamin as a boy/old man, learned many things and had many experiences that are both heartwarming and curious. His innocence and genuine spirit brought a bit of humor to the film and delight as well. A wonderful feature about the whole experience of Benjamin is his falling in-love and remaining that way throughout his life. The film is one that many will talk about for ages to come. Is it possible for a baby to be born this way and life to go in reverse? Maybe it can or maybe it can't; however, the movie is entertaining and the actors who played their parts did a superb job! I liked every part of this movie. Not one thing would I change. This movie is a keepsake and it will be deemed a classic for years to come.

The Curious Disappointment of Benjamin Button
Review created: 07/23/09

A Brad Pitt, and what's her name flop in my opinion. I grew old just waiting for something to keep my attention and hold it. Absolutely boring for the 1st half of the movie, perhaps even longer - it felt like forever. The slices of life to show the aging backwards and forwards were flat, beige and uninteresting. I'm a huge fan of Brad Pitt and what's her name (sorry but my brain shut down just thinking of the movie). However, the chemisty just wasn't there.

Mr. Pitt's performance was wooden and without his usual delightful quirkiness which still may not have saved the film. What's her name -- oh - Kate Blancett, usually an amazing actress's performance was nearly as wooden which didn't fit since she portrayed a creative, intelligent woman. Her make up as a dying elderly woman was offsetting from the get go. It didn't look right and when the camera was on her, her voice could scarely be heard. When the camera off off her then her voice was clear and easily heard.

Finally as the 2 met closer in age the movie moved closer to being a 2-star performance but it never really got there. At least it was bareable and I kept hoping for fireworks but the lead actors' just didn't have it. Their apparent life long love fizzled instead of sizzled. The actress who portrayed their adult daughter was far more interesting than her parent's and she didn't even have much of a part in the movie but to look grief-stricken and dutiful.

Benjamin Button;s passionate father lost his passion as re reappeared years later as a 'friend who wants to keep in touch. Why? There was no emotional connection he could make believeable. The woman who adopted Benjamin Button was very good as a loving, giving woman who truly loved her odd son. Kudos to her for being so real in this artificial movie.

The idea this movie meant to portray is interesting and inticing, but the making of it fell flat.

Unfortunately, I will now attempt to sell the movie rather than add it to my collection of must have movies.

I cannot say enough about this film which is truly a work of art. Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Taraj P. Henson and others combine to make this one of the most well acted films I have ever seen. The plot is original and unusual. Not played to be corny or fantasy-like, more like true life. If you do not come away feeling different about your life and living it after seeing this movie, you better check for a pulse, because it is next to impossible not to cry. I did...a movie I would see over and over again. Highly recommended.

I decided to buy the movie because I didn't get a chance to go to the theatre to watch it. I love Brad Pitt and his acting and what I had heard of the story line of the movie appealed to me. I wanted to see what happened to the child that was born old. I wanted to see how his life was lived, who raised him and how he was perceived as the already old child. I had guessed that he would have to grow younger but the way it happened with his lover holding him in her arms as he gradually went back to being a baby then nothingness was very touching. It had the element of fantasy and yet being a heartbreaking love story. Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett both did wonderful jobs as actors in this movie.

I purchased the DVD "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" because I am a big movie buff and enjoy collecting the movies I feel are worthg watching again. Thankfully at this time my income allows me to do so. I saw this movie on its' opening day and had a large interest in it from seeing several trailers at other movies I had attended. I did not do my homework however, and did not realize it was as long a movie as it was. So I was a tad antsy watching it, as I had some time constraints. I enjoyed for the most part what I saw but did want to watch it again at my leisure. As it was derived from a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, another of my favorite authors. As for the movie, I am always in awe of the performance that Cate Blanchett consistently provides, this movie being no exception. Brad Pitt does his part as well, but in my mind I always see him as someone who has good looks versus a refined actor, could be bias on my part, I will let other people be the judge of that. I also think the utter novelty of the story, beginning at old age and getting younger, piqued my interest as well. I sometimes scratch my head at some of the Academy Award nominees for Best Picture, as I did this one, but definitely feel it was worth watching again.
