  EXCELLENT Coffee Maker!

Not only does this coffee maker look great, it makes a great cup of coffee. The top is hinged on the back so that when it is opened, one can access all interior portions of the maker. Water reservoir has side view cup indicator for a maximum of 12 cups. Has mechanism for charcoal filter. Comes with optional gold coffee filter, but will likewise hold a plain filter, that rests inside the removable filter basket that is both deep and wide enough to accommodate finely ground coffee without backing up.

The coffee reservoir is likewise removable for easy cleaning (both the filter basket and the coffee reservoir have handles for easy removal). Water flows through a showerhead type of delivery system, which can be easily cleaned when the top is opened. The brew time is perfect - neither too fast nor too slow, so the cup it delivers is consistently good.

Of course, no longer having to deal with coffeepots with inadequate spouts that spill while pouring is an absolute Godsend!! The drip tray and grill below the dispensing area are removable as well, making clean-up quite easy.

Within two weeks after purchasing one of these for home use, I bought one to replace the dribbling-spouted pot at my office. Three friends have now likewise purchased this maker based on my recommendation and having used it in my home or office and I've given one as a gift.

I'd buy this coffee maker again and again!!

Nicely Dispensed But Not So Special
Review created: 12/29/06
10 of 16 people found this review helpful.

THis is a single cup coffee dispenser that works through a convenient lever activated device. I will keep coffee hot for several hours without a burner so the coffee maintains a fresh brewed flavor.

Now for the negatives. When I purchased the machiene I was under the impression that it actually brewed the coffee one cup at a time. THis is not the case. When the maker is activated it brews an entire resevoir of coffee. This will stay hot for about 3 hours after which time you will either need to brew another pot of coffee or heat your cup in the microwave. A further problem with this configuration is that when you do go to brew the next pot you have to drain the resevoir by pouring individual cups through the dispenser. If you forget to do this you will have nasty, cold coffee, and most likely a big mess to clean up. In addition filling the machiene initally is inconvenient. There is a very small opening to pour fresh water through and I have found that I end up getting more water on the counter than in the maker.

If you drink a high volume of coffee then this pot might work for you. But, if you are looking for a solution for your home or office that provides fresh coffee all day for one or two people then this is not the pot for you.

False advertising--did not get product paid for
Review created: 01/07/07

I did not receive the product advertised. The coffee maker I received was a rip-off, it was the Cuisinart DCC-200 REFURBISHED. Had I known the product was refurbished, I never would have ordered it. I tried to contact the seller (Fishfrenzy) but the listing was gone when I rechecked. The shipping cost to return it was close to $20 due to weight, and I had no confidence that I would get my money back (since the advertisement was misleading.) I ended up donating the coffee maker to a local charitable organization and made sure they knew that it was refurbished, not original.
Prior dealings with ebay have been favorable, but "fishfrenzy" left a very sour taste in my mouth. In fact, the rating should be 0/5, not even 1/5.

  Not The Top Coffee Maker
Review created: 05/05/07

The style is great. It can fit in many kitchens and I love the features offered. Cleaning is a little difficult because the container that holds the coffee has several nooks making it hard to reach with your hands. The good part is, it has a carrying handle and is removable

The brass filter is a great feature making it very easy to clean and reuse.

Now, the brewing part: Filling the coffee maker is difficult. You will need extra lighting since the entire interior is black and the fill opening is small. Care needs to be taken not to miss the opening or you will get water in the heating chamber. I measured the temperature of the water and it read 185 degrees. This temperature is too low for brewing. Temperature should be between 191 to 205 degrees.

I called Cuisinart Customer service a total of 4 times and the representatives argued with me each time. The last person I called asked me if the coffee was hot enough to drink and then told me there was nothing wrong with it. Since I am a qualified repair technician in many things, I asked to a service manual. The Cuisinart service rep told me they don't sell those because people will copy and make the coffee maker.

The 2 to 4 cup feature is pretty much worthless. The hot water coming out of the spray head doesn't reach all the coffee and you will end up drinking a very weak cup of coffee.

I saw one at a friend's house and liked it, and decided I wanted one. I like the way it keeps coffee piping hot and in an insulated shell. Also I have a choice of keeping it warm for one to 4 hours. All in all I wouldn't trade it for any other coffee maker

Great coffee-maker. Keeps coffee hot for more than the two hours limit I have seen on makers in the past. Like the idea of not having to use a carafe. Would like to see the clock be lit up so it would be easier to read. Nice feature is the coffee basket. You can use paper filters or the gold basket that comes with it. Using the basket does leave some grinds in the coffee. The charcoal filter that comes with it does seem to improve the flavor of the coffee, but that depends on the water source you use. Filters, if they last the 60 brew life that is recommended, are a little on the expensive side. Overall I would recommend this machine.

Bought this at abes of maine on ebay as refurbished and save $$$ looks new. My wife and I are coffee drinkers and love this item! It keeps the coffee piping hot for hours its amazing without that burnt taste. Definitely buy a permanet filter we find the coffee taste better. I cant find any downside to this item because its exactly what weve been looking for in a coffe maker. Weve owned coffe makers with the decanters and carafe and we prefer this better. Its so convenient and we thinks its so cool! Our guests especially love it when all they have to do is put their mug under it and get their coffee. It looks great in our counter and looks very well made. Paid only 49. oo refurbished and cant tell the difference from the new one. The dept store wanted 139.00! So happy to find it at the price!

Leaked all over the counter, costly to have warrantied.

I drooled over this coffee pot and was thrilled to find a refurbished pot at a very affordable price. However, upon using the pot, it leaked water all over the counter. My husband and I could not find where the leak was coming from.

I figured no problem, Ill just get it warrantied. To my surprise, I had to enclose a $10.00 check and it cost me $13.00 to ship it. Considering Sam's had these pots brand new for $20.00 more than what I had paid, I was pretty disappointed and feel that I should have just forked over the $20 + tax and bought a new one.

It has now been 4 weeks and I still dont have the pot back.

This is my favorite coffeemaker of all time. The first one I bought was at Macy's, and it was over $100. Perfect coffee maker, very nice, I love the fact there is no carafe to get dirty and look bad. It lasted almost 4 years before it quit working. There was no other choice to replace it with, and I got two refurbished ones for less than I paid for one new one! The refurbished ones are just like a brand new one, except they come with a gold filter as a bonus.

Great coffee, great looks, no carafe to wash and try to get coffee stains out of...

I hope these last as long as the original... This is my all time favorite coffee maker!

  Great Coffee machine

This is the second unit I have owned. The first one was used every day and lasted many years. I like the on-demand feature that just pours the coffee in your cup. It even accepts larger cups (up to 16 oz or 20oz). It brews is perfectly and the tasts is great becacuse of the in-line replaceable filter.
Cleaning it up is easy too, since you just need to remove the inner carafe and wash it out.

The only thing they should have included is to light up the LCD digital clock so it can be seen at night.

I would recommend this unit to anyone.

Cuisinart One Cup at a Time Coffee Maker
Review created: 03/06/09

1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This coffee maker is stainless, very attractive, not too large for the counter, and allows us to pre-set the automatic brew time. The most important part, however, is the one cup at a time dispensing feature. No more dirty carafes to wash, (or break). The coffee doesn't sit in a pot for a long time and become bitter. You simply place your cup on the dispensing platform, push the lever, and you have a fresh, hot cup of coffee. It is also very easy to clean. We bought it on EBay as it was sold out everywhere we looked. The price on EBay was excellent even with added shipping. Highly recommended product!!

I got this coffe maker because I was tired of the glass pots, clening and
breaking. Not having to deal with this is the ultimate. You still have to wash out the inside but its plastic and metal. The charcoal filter improves the coffee taste greatly. When this one breaks I will buy another.

I loooove this coffee maker. It is the best and I have tried several. Very easy to program for automatic brew and it keeps it very hot without making it bitter. The push lever for coffee is so easy to use, much easier than the ones where you have to push the cup in to get the coffee. Bonus... it looks so good on your counter!

This is a great coffee maker for those who don't want to spend several hundred $. You don't need to spend more $ to get a great cup of coffee when you pick this up. We're not sure if it's the charcoal filter, or if it's just the pot itself, but we hadn't realized how bad our old pot made our coffee and how it tasted till we picked this up. Instead of stopping and buying coffee at a store, we now make it at home and take it with us. We've saved $ in the long run and totally love our cuisinart. Go ahead, pick one up, we dare ya!

Good looking machine and GREAT coffee. Consider one if you are tired of a dripping coffee carafe. Also, no carafe to break. My machine makes coffee quickly and it comes out piping hot, and it tastes great. Comes with a gold, permanant filter to use with or without a paper filter and a replacable charcoal water filter that lasts 60 days, both of which enhance the experience of a great cup.

Makes as little as 4 cups and up to 12. I have only made 10 cups at a time. I have not tried to make multiple pots in a row either. For my one pot in the morning, I am extremely satisfied.

I have found the coffee maker is easy to use and clean up. Make sure you check your available space because it does take up more space than a conventional Mr. Coffee kind of machine.

  Cuisinart DCC-2000 12-Cup Coffee Maker

1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

First of all this is by far the absolute BEST COFFEE MAKER that I have ever purchased. Fantasic design, it will make 2, 4, or 6 cups of coffee; the brewed coffee goes into the reservoir waiting to be dispensed, it will stay warm for about 4 hours & then you can hit the brew switch again and it will stay hot for another 3-4 hours without getting stronger like most coffee makers. To empty the coffee just lift the top & remove the larger basket with the coffee & the small basket comes with it, so you can remove the coffee grind basket & then empty the coffee reservoir. Easy clean up! Make the most fantasic HOT coffee. Buy it you won't be disappionted!

This is the second DCC 2000 I've owned and in my opinion it is the finest maker made today. Easy to setup and easy to clean with controls to automatically start the brew cycle at any time you choose. The refurbished unit came in 'As New' condition with all components. It looks and works as well as a 'new' unit.

We had a Cuisinart DCC-2000 for several years and loved it. When the heating element went out and no replacement can be had, we were sad. The refurbished units, I have bought two, one for our use and one for my son for Christmas. We all love the coffee produced and that it stays hot till the last cup without scorching. Auto on and off, hot for 4 hours, what more could you want. Love it!

this is the best coffee maker i've ever had the pleasure of owning(twice), bar none!
what's not to love...you can pre-program it so you wake up to fresh brew, it keeps the coffee hot (inside the unit itself), there's no glass carafe to break (and no stainless one that you have to preheat and it makes 12 cups.
you just place your cup under the spigot, press the bar down and drink!! easy to use, cleans up perfectly, comes with gold permanent filter.
finally, this particular dealer has the absolute best price (i shopped in stores, online and called the manufacturer)...i don't know how they do it!

  Coffee Maker

Does the job...

When I wake up, I go to the kitchen. If I was on top of my game, I would have cleaned the pot out the night before. When I'm not, I clean the pot in the morning, add coffee to the grinder, add water to the pot, put the grinds into the filter and turn the machine on. Soon after turning it on I put my cup under the dispenser and coffee appears in it - but only after I push down on a know to make the coffee flow out. As mentioned before, if I'm on my game, I did cleaned it out the night before, and if I'm on my A-game, I ground the coffee, put it in the filter, added water and SET THE TIMER so that when I wake up, I only need to put the mug under the dispenser. That is, if I remembered to run the dishwasher, and actually had a clean mug...that would be my A-Plus game.
