Cuisinart COD-4000SA 12-Cup Coffee Maker

I bought the Cusinart COD because I've owned previous Cuisinart products that I've liked, including a retro coffee maker that I thought was the best coffee maker I've ever owned. I'm also a fan of the three year warranty offered by Cuisinart. I used the warranty on my previous coffee maker, and it was replaced when it died one month before the warranty expired. I have to say that I like the look of the coffee on demand model, and it also fits nicely under my cupboards. When working, it also makes a fine cup of coffee. Unfortunately, the third time I started up my brand new coffee maker, I noticed the heating element was not working. I don't know about you, but I find a hot cup of coffee to be superior to a lukewarm cup of coffee. Happily, the next day, I was back to hot coffee again. Sadly, the day afterwards, yep, you guessed it, lukewarm was the flavour of the morning. The really sad part is that I have discovered that no warranty applies to Cuisinart products when purchased on eBay, which means that each cup of coffee I have enjoyed from my new coffee maker has cost me $25 a cup.

Best electric coffeemaker. The Coffee on Demand feature works well, the coffee gauge is accurate... this Cusiunart is like a miniature verison of the industrial coffeemakers at Starbucks and other cafes. The coffee it brews is as good as it geets. Temperature consistancy is important with coffee, and it seems that keeping the whole coffee-making process enclosed in an insulated chamber improves the flavor of the coffee... as compared to other cofffee makers.

Controls are easy, just two knobs and three buttons control the times, timed brew, and pot size. There is an option to brew 1-4 cups, the coffeemaker will brew the small pot at half speed, and it beeps when coffee is ready.

Easy to use, easy to clean, keeps coffee hot and fresh for over an hour... the Coffee on Demand by Cuisunart is an excellent machine..

I bought a Black & Decker a few months ago and found it had to be absolutely perfectly aligned or it wouldn't drain into the pot and flooded the counter with coffee and grounds. After this happened 4 times and even after careful placement, I decided to make a change. This Cuisinart one was simple to set up, makes great coffee plus there's no pot to keep clean or make sure is in the 'sweet spot' to avoid a cleanup job. My life just got easier! Love the looks and ease of operation.
