This was my first Pynchon and I really enjoyed it. This book is a satire on detective stories. Specifically those mysteries with a list of clues and tidy, to the point of absurdity, conclusions. Almost every character proves to be entertaining. Pynchon's wit shows most with extreme right wing secret societies and a former child actor turned lawyer. Warning: The text is only about 150 pages but the writing is complex.

This book was purchased for a college course that my daughter is taking for the 2006 Fall Semester. The book arrived in excellent shape and on time as promised. I'm very happy with this purchase and I give this book and the shipper a great review.
