I love this movie...from the moment I first saw it through repeated watches over the years, it will remain a favorite of mine!
The movie also eerily mirrors the life of the star - Brandon Lee, who died on set towards the end of filming during a shooting scene when a bullet pierced his body and lodged itself in his spine! The movie becomes more poignant when you know that this star is no longer with us and indeed certain scenes required careful editing to allow for the fact that he was not there to finish filming!
In the movie he actually dies in a similar fashion, but comes back to avenge the killers for the death of his fiancee (in real life he was also set to marry his fiancee!) and himself. He adopts the Crow persona a year down the line and begins his mission! It is a dark and violent portrayal of hurt and death, but also haunting and sensitive.
The movie is based on the comic book of the same name, and does well to recreate that comic book feeling of dark scenes and avengefulness. The grusome underworld of crime and violence is in stark contrast to the love story which runs through the film! And the poduction team should be applauded for allowing both threads to be fully apparant at the same time!
It is visually stunning, well acted and for me, a classic movie that I will never tire of, and knowing the situation behind the scenes will always make this both entertaining and deeply sad to watch!

This was truly Brandon Lee's best performance, and unfortunately his last. It seems as if this role was written specifically for him. This movie is brilliant. He played the part so well, it fit him so perfect. This movie will touch your soul, it shakes the emotions within. Ever since I saw this movie when I was younger, it has been my favorite. The movie is truly keeps the viewer excited, in awe, and finally satisfied with a sense of justice. I can't see anyone disagreeing that this is truly one of the best movies ever made. Brandon Lee was a wonderful person, and actor, and although it is so unfortunate that he was taken away from us so untimely, this film truly makes for a great way to remember him.You must watch Brandon's interview after watching the film. He was such an uplifting, inspirational person. I was moved so much, I wrote a poem about this movie, please check out my poetry on poetry.com, search: Mcneel, Desiree.

THE CROW is my all time favorite movie. I truly can't find the words to describe this movie. The plot is incredible, the actors are fantastic, vengenance proves to be the ultimate love for this story. Brandon Lee was beyond his time in doing this movie. So sad he was taken from us so soon. I watch this movie every chance I get and am and avid collector of anything associated with this movie. Hearing all the above comments just makes me want the DVD ASAP because I've been watching it on VHS.

If you like excitement, suspense action and a love story, but not your "classic" love story this movie is for you. It's an older movie but still holds it's own. The second crow film made was, in my humble opinion, terrible, but the original is and will always be worth having in your collection.
The story line is a couple get murdered right before their wedding day. They are murdered on what is called "Devils Night." The man (Eric Draven, played by Brandon Lee - Bruce Lee's son) returns from the grave to avenge their deaths.
The story then goes into the other characters and how they play in to the whole story and what happens to them. There are some characters that are endearing and some that are the kind you would cross to the other side of the street to avoid.
I like this movie emensely, I hope you do too.

This is a classic film starring Brandon Lee as Eric Draven a young musician who along with his Fiance' Shelly is killed the night before their wedding (Brandon in fact died during the final filming of this true treasure..accidently shot on day 50 of a 58 day filming schedule..Brandon died 12 hours later from severe blood loss after the bullet tip lodged in his spine..Brandon died 2 weeks prior to his real life Wedding to Eliza Hutton..his final words were reported to be "someone say cut"..he lapsed into a coma from the shock and never woke up) as Eric returns from the grave he begins his journey of revenge against the scumbags who took away his and Shelleys futures..enlisting the help of the then Dect. played by Ernie Hudson who stayed with Shelley as she lay dying and now looks after their little Friend Sarah..now busted down to beat cop after asking one too many questions about their murders he happily aids Eric in his Vendetta..Watch as Eric does what every Victim and Family of a Victim wishes they could do get revenge eye for an eye..."The Crow" is a heart pounding testiment to what true love can accomplish..yes, true love knows no bounderies! had Brandon Lee survived we would be enjoying several "Crow" sequals, but with his passing we are left with this brilliantly acted, written and directed film..Brandon you can be proud..You are missed God Bless and RIP!

The Only one of the Crow series worth watching, let alone buying. This is a classic, hits all the right Hero movie cliches and does them well, without being silly. A dark movie just right for that creepy night or rainy morning...this is a must have for any real movie collection.

I have watched this movie several times and owned it in both dvd and vhs. The dvd brings a refreshing newness to an already great movie. I originally purchased it for the hype that Brandon Lee was killed making it, and found that the acting in it is supreme, the music is going to be classic. I love the Crow movies (this and City of Angels are a must for any collection) and the digital age has given you even more toys to play with with the dvd interactive menus. Highly recommend

This movie is by far way ahead of its time. The cinematogrophy and the acting is second to none. I watched this movie as a child, and have seen over 40 times since then. I would recomend anyone who enjoys comic hero movies to buy this dvd.

I loved this movie from the first moment I saw it back when I was a teen. Brandon Lee gives such a great performance, a testatment not only to his father but on his own merit. The story [comic originally] is dark and violence filled, but inherently conveys a universal message that love... love will find a way. Even through vengeance.

This DVD the Crow, has been one of the most awesome one I've had seen. Suspenseful and keeping one on the edge of their set from beginning until the end. I feel any viewer that comes away from this movie not feeling a sense of fulfilment towards the justice, that was woth upon the masses did not understand this DVD's plot.
Since I purchased it mainly at the time for the charactors within it, myself was surprised with how well the story took on. As for disliking this movie is a big NO. I have purchased and seen many a DVD movie that has captured my attention right from the start.........I must reiterate this again. THIS WAS ONE OF THE MANY, my recommendation is that all viewers see this if you enjoy drama, suspense laughter and just a plain great storyline. So go and purcase the "CROW" better yet buy and watch the whole series a dissapointment this is not.......ENJOY

the greatness of this movie has nothing to do with the untimely death of brandon lee....it is a classic in itself....his death just add's an aura to the whole movie.....it is shot brillantly...great storyline...this movie can be loved by both men and women ....due to the coolness of the eric draven charecter and the love story involved throughout the entire film....a must have

A good movie all the way around!Its an older movie, but it has everything you need to be entertained.If you have never seen it I would definitely recommend it to you. Although I do not like the 2 sequels that came after this one, the first crow movie is on my top 10 list. Check it out.

The price for this 2 disc special edition crow dvd was awesome. Also this is a very hard to find product since it is out of print. Most places that say they have it want $30 or more and then tell you it is out of print so they have none left in stock.
