Crocheting for Dummies by Karen Manthey, Susan Brittain (2004, Paperback)

I bought Crocheting for Dummies a few weeks ago in an attempt to teach myself to crochet. I thought that since I had a tiny bit of experience with crocheting that this would just refresh my memory. I was wrong. I think, for me at least, crocheting is something you have to see in order to do. The book seems user friendly, but I still could not do what I had hoped.

this book covers everything you want to know about crocheting, it is great, i refer to it often. i was having problens with binding off and reading patterns and this covers it all.

This book contains much information to learn how to crochet. I would have liked to seen more patterns in it.

I THINK ALL THE "FOR DUMMIES" BOOKS ARE PRETTY WELL DONE. THEY USE HUMOR TO HOLD YOUR ATTENTION. THIS BOOK IS ESPECIALLY GOOD FOR BEGINNERS I THINK. I'VE BEEN DOING THIS AWHILE BUT I ALSO READ SOME TIPS AND IDEAS I HADN'T THOUGHT OF OR HAD THOUGHT OF IN A DIFFERENT WAY. I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR GOOD IDEAS. THIS BOOK HAS SOME.

This book is very good, I refer to it a lot, it tells you how to read patterns, select hooks and yarns, increase & decrease,crochet in circles and squares, fix your mistakes and assemble a finished project. and more
I would say that it is a very good book to have in your library.
I bought it because I am starting to crochet again, and I certainly needed a refresher course
It is written in plain English and easy to understand

LOOKS LIKE IT'S A GOOD BOOK BUT I HAVEN'T TRIED TO FOLLOW A PATTERN YET BUT WILL SOON.i LIKE DUMMIE BOOKS BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY SIMPLE . A CHIL COULD FOLLOW THEM.

For anyone that doesn't know how to crochet or need to refresh their memory, this is a great book. I highly recommend the Dummie series for any how to's. Besides being informative, they are also funny.

I decided to buy this book because my daughter brought a copy home from the county Library, and I was really impressed by it. I like it because it is like having a crochet encyclopedia in the house. If we have a question we need answering, we can look it up.

I wanted to learn crocheting and bought this book 4 weeks ago. So far the book has been very helpful. It is very descriptive. I am enjoying learning crocheting using this book. The condition of the book was great too.

I already knew how to crochet, but I wanted to look at some different stitches and patterns. Really helpful

I learned a little over a year ago how to crochet. I just couldn't seem to get the pattern reading down pat. So I purchased this book for some help and thus far it has helped me. I look forward to make some beautiful things.

This is a great book for those beginning, as well as those who haven't picked up a crochet hook since they were in grade school. The directions are very clear and easy to follow. Much better than any other teach yourself booklets on crocheting, and I got a great deal on e-bay! Any trouble I have had was my own error (accidentally skipping paragraphs). I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn to crochet.

I bought this book especially for my mother, she always says she would like to learn to crochet. So I saw this book "Crocheting for Dummies" and I assume it was mostly for beginners. I bought it and gave it to my mother and she has learned alot. She has made coasters, placemates and now she is making a blanket. She also wants to make a shawl. I really recomend this book especialy for beginners. She really likes the book alot.

I bought this for my mother because she asked me to and she doesn't have an Ebay account. She said it's helpful and full of good advice but I can't really comment because I haven't even seen the book in person.
