The Critic - The Entire Series (DVD, 2004, 3-Disc Set)

It was exactly what our son wanted for Christmas. Its very hard to find locally but EBAY was the place to go and this seller has a good reputation for products sold. I can't wait to see his face when he opens up the DVD set, exactly what he thought his parents couldn't find for Christmas.

Follow the COMPLETE series of Jay Sherman as he reviews bad spoofs of bad movies. If you like 'The Sompsons', you'll like this series.
The movies he reviews may stink, but this collection doesn't.

I was very very happy about my purchase, the DVDs work perfectly, the CDs themselves and the case were in great condition and I swear I practically received my items the next day! Would definitely use this seller again!

This is one of my favorite animated series of all time. It is greatly under rated and should have gone on twice as long as it did, at the very least. From the creative minds that brought you The Simpsons, this series is for any fan of Hollywood parody, quick wit, and satire. I love it.

No question but that this short-lived network show was hilarious, with great writing, capsule movie highlight parodies, and guest stars appearing as themselves in cartoon form. The show was headed by Jon Lovitz as movie critic Jay Sherman, and the humor was unsparing of any but his Southern girlfriend and her child. Sherman took as many shots as anyone with his stomach talking to him like a ravenous Audrey in Little House of Horrors. An assortment of nice extras.

THIS WAS A GREAT SHOW. I HAVE LOVED IT FROM THE START AND ALL THE WAY TO THEN OF THE SERIS ON THE INTERNET. IT WAS A SHAME THAT IT WAS SHORT LIVED AND NOT VERY MANY PEOPLE EVEN KNEW OF ITS EXISTENCE. HATCHI MATCHI!!!!!!

the best way to discribe this show is that its like family guy before family guy. with all the flashback and off the wall humor. its sad that it only lasted 2 seasons. its a great buy for the prices that are showing up on ebay. take a chance and get it, you wont regreat it!!

I remember watching this show as a kid and loving it, the DVD set is simple but delivers. the show itself is decent however i can definetly see why it did not last long.

The Critic is one of the most underrated shows ever on tv. The entire series in one set along with the extra episodes aired only on the internet.

I didnt realize how funny this show was until I bought this. I remember the episodes vaguely back in 94-95 when they first came out but I guess I was too young to get a lot of the dark humor. I found myself sitting alone in my living room laughing at stupid subtle jokes which i never do. LOVED EVERY EPISODE!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Everyone episode is pure comedy gold.

It should still be in syndication, at the very least (I don't have cable, so I don't know if it still runs on any obscure network). I guess people didn't want to hear Jay Lovitz's voice for 30 minutes once a week, but everything else should make up for it!

I say we rally together and get FOX to bring this great show back.

The Critic was a fantastic animated show that was done by done by many of the the people responsible for the first several years of the Simpsons on both the animation and writing sides.
Many of the writers who did not come from the Simpsons went on to write for both the Simpsons and Futurama like Ken Keeler and Patric Verrone. Another writer from the Critic who has become famous since then is Judd Apatow, writer of Knocked Up and The 40 Year Old Virgin.
If you are are a fan of the Simpsons you are going to love this show.

One of the best series that was on TV, unfortunelly long time ago, Jay Sherman is the third best morning cable film critic...

everything was describe as detailed. it took the proper time to arrive and all transaction went through smoothly with no problems. the prices for the item was a bargain and the seller did an excellent job in notifying the buyer that the item was shipped.

my best friend had an upcomming birthday and we loved the critic when it was on the air...we both miss it dearly...so i decided to surprise her w/ the entire series on dvd!!!! we also love family guy and we know for a fact that seth mcfarlane (?) must have also been a fan of the critic...!

I love the characters, the strange humor, the satire; i wish it had not gone off the air. I purchased this box set for my boyfriend for christmas and he seems to enjoy it. It is strange to me that no one remembers this comedy, and while some of the humor is dated, it still compares to family guy and the simpsons.
