Weird, twisted little stories; not intended for kids!

I bought 'Creepy Susie' because I loved Angus Oblong's series 'The Oblongs' on Adult Swim and had just bought the DVD set. I was pleasantly surprised to find out he'd written this twisted little book of stories. Though some of the same characters (Helga, Susie, Milo) appear, they are not necessarily the same as they appeared on the show; the show's writers very much softened Angus Oblong's ideas, and this work is his alone. That's not a bad thing; it's just different. Susie in the show is dark and creepy; Susie in the book is dark, creepy, and homicidal. The book is very much Dick and Jane meets Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. If you liked Tim Burton's 'The Oyster Boy', Jhonen Vasquez's 'Squee', or Roman Dirge's 'Lenore' you'll probably enjoy 'Creepy Susie'. I would not recommend buying it for a child younger than 12, though; some stories have mild to moderate innuendo, and most have an adult theme. Also, please do not expect a chapter book or graphic novel. These are much shorter, though no less entertaining.
