Creative Technology Zen V Plus (2 GB) MP3 Player

With 2 GB of storage space, the Creative Labs Zen V Plus 2GB MP3 player allows you to store up to roughly 500 songs on it for up to 32 hours of music (the rechargeable battery provides 15 hours of playback).

2GB should be enough for most people, but for those of you with an even bigger music library, there's a 4GB version available that's a bit most expensive, and holds up 1,000 songs.

The Zen V Plus 2GB mp3 player comes with all the software and is easy to install on your computer. You connect it to your computer via the USB 2.0 sync cable. While the player is connected you can transfer songs to it, create and edit your own playlists, and also manage your calender/daily planner. All this is being done while the battery is being recharged.

It's easy to transfer songs to this mp3 player from your computer. If you already have songs on computer, you'll be listening to songs on your mp3 within a few short minutes. If not, there's software included that you can install on your computer that allows you to rip songs from your CDs.

The Zen V Plus 2GB mp3 player also plays full color video, which is a pretty nifty feature. However, the screen is only 1.5" and therefore isn't ideal for watching videos. If you want to buy an mp3 player to watch videos, I recommend getting one with a bigger screen. Therefore the ability to watch videos on this player is nothing more than a novelty feature.

Note: There's a similar mp3 player called the Zen V 2GB (without the "Plus") that cost less but doesn't have the ability to play videos. If you must have the ability to play videos, make sure you pick up the "Zen V GB Plus".

Other features that this player offers is the ability to display photos, listen to FM radio (you can preset radio stations), check the time & date, record your voice, and (while on your computer) write down important events to the calender on the mp3 player. You can also change the display background color to one of about half a dozen different colors.

So you can do quite a few small things with this mp3 player besides listening to music.

As an mp3 for listening to music, the Zen V Plus works well, for the most part. It comes with ear phones for listening, but you can also buy speakers to listen to it aloud. If you want to listen to it while in the car, you can also buy a device to listen it through your car radio.

However, there are some things that keep me from giving it a full recommendation. First of all the mp3 player is really small, and because of this, the buttons are small, and so is the control stick. I have small fingers but I still had some trouble using the stick and pressing the buttons.

This isn't a problem when I'm at home or in a stationary place, but I also use it to listen to in car, and it's hard to use while driving. If you plan on using an mp3 player while driving, I suggest buying an mp3 with bigger buttons. If you have large fingers, you can forget about it.

This is why this mp3 player is great for the kids (if you allow them to use mp3 players). With their smaller hands they shouldn't have trouble using the control stick and pressing the buttons. And 2GB worth of music should be more than enough to keep them entertained.

Also you should buy an extended warranty on if you buy this (it should be about $20 for 2 year plan). About 3 months after buying this, my player just froze on me and I had to take back to be fixed. This player doesn't seem be as durable as other

when I opened the box that contained the Creative zen Player, I was pleasantly surprised to see how small the item was. When it was displayed on the ebay page it actually looked bigger, it fit comfortably in my hands and felt sturdy.

Since in can display videos as well as MP3s and pictures, it is truly a versatile device. For radio listeners you will further thrilled when you discover the FM receiver also included in the Creative Zen.

Syncing with my PC was seamless and quick.

Creative Labs is known for its superior audio products, and this is no exception. The earbuds fit comfortably in your ears and deliver clear and sharp sound.

Finally at it's current price , i belive it is definitely a steal for anyone looking for a versatile multimedia device.

I bought this looking to take a step up from my 1gb player, and wanted to try one with some additional features. I really like the menu system in it for navigating and configuring things, the OLED screen is bright and easy to read. I don't like how there is no easy way to browse to songs in folders (you need to put them in playlists using the zen media explorer software on your computer, and have to browse all tracks for non-listed songs). Pictures look ok, actually the video looks better. The only thing about the video is as advertised (only very short clips) for the reason that the v plus can't process compressed video. A 10 minute clip can come out to 250mb, so don't expect to be using this to watch movies. Overall I felt it was a good value for the money and am quite satisfied with it. One last thing to note: keep a paperclip handy if you have one of these: though mine has only done it once in a month or two, others have been known to freeze periodically and require a reset via the small reset hole in the left side.

I've done my research and Creative Labs has a history of turning out great MP3 players, and the Zen V and the Zen V Plus--available in July and August, respectively--are no exception.

These cute and pocketable flash devices are packed with features and offer impressive performance, making them an excellent option for anyone looking for a lower-capacity, solid-state MP3 player. Of course, since the Creative Zen V Plus adds two desirable extras to the package (an FM radio and video playback), yet costs only about $25 more than the Zen V, I think that the Plus is the way to go--more bang for your buck.

You can pick up the 1GB model for $99.99, the 2GB for $139.99, the 4GB for $179.99, or the 8GB for $219.99. Comparatively, the Zen V lists at $89.99 for the 1GB and $159.99 for the 4GB (Creative discontinued other capacities for this model). In either case, it's a better deal than the iPod Nano.

The curvaceous design of the Creative Zen V Plus echoes that of its larger sibling, the Zen Vision:M, though its small size makes the style a bit more toylike (in a good way), almost reminiscent of a Tamagotchi.

Also, The Zen V Plus isn't available in the same color palette as the Vision:M. Instead, you choose from white or black versions, and you get different color accents shown around the joystick, on the volume rocker, and through the seams of the player: orange for 1GB, green for 2GB, and blue for 4GB and 8GB (black only).

Creative is also set to release a blood red-accented version of the 8GB, though that model was not yet available at press time. It's a nice look, complemented even further by the vivid 1.5-inch OLED display. Unfortunately, while the screen is viewable from any angle, it's tough to read in bright sunlight.

The item that I purchased was a "Zen V Plus" but I received only a "Zen V". I inquired about this and received no response form the seller for over a week.

I would recommend that anyone looking to purchase this item verify that they get what they bid on.

I had the same model player which finally took a dump after 2.5yrs of use and this more than makes up 4 it. No cosmetic damage, all works properly. I love the size of the player along with the fact I have a high impact rubber suit that I am able to reuse. Overall love it!

The unit does not hold over 2 1/2 hours of battery charge. The instructions are not clear on how to place and delete music from unit.

It's a great little (emphasis on little) mp3, fits in any pocket, or for those who enjoy magic parlor tricks, small enough to palm & make disappear. Very easy to use, navigate (much moreso than my X-Fi). Earbuds not much good, but many good ones around. Not the player for those who want to store humungous amounts of files, though.

When I first pluged it into the computer it was not working so I had to download something from the Creative Zen website, but now it work great!!

Item is small and compact. A bonus feature is that you can watch short video segments on the small screen as well as play music.

Love Love Love this player! Its louder than most, has awesome line-in recording capability, and has a long battery life. Its easy to navigate and work. Great Player had one i broke and immediately ordered another no second thoughts :D

Gotta give it a below average, at least for now. It locked up when shutting down about 5 of the first 10 times I used it. Upgraded the firmware from Creative and it's worked the last few times without lockup, so hopefully that helped. Shouldn't have to go through that trouble, though.

It's perfect for me, I use it for motorcycle runs. It's only a 2GB, yet it holds almost 400 songs; personally, I don't need any more than that at a time.

The Creative Zen V Plus is a user friendly MP3 Player, packed with features you would expect to only find on high end, more costly devices. Creative Zen V Plus is affordable and features MP3 formats, Video, FM Radio, MS Outlook compatibility. It has nice video playback and the battery life is good. I like the simple USB connectivity and the easy to comprehend user interface. Creative Zen has considerable bang for the buck, I would recommend it to anyone.

I'm technology challanged, and had a real fun time figuring the little critter out, but I'm amazed. I managed to lock up the display and couldn't figure out how to clear it (Read the directions, dummy ! ), but after reading the directions I discovered how to reset and have had no other problems. Even with the small bud ear-phones supplied with the unit it sounds GREAT ! Music is arranged in a way that's easy to find a particular cut, but could be easier. Over-all, I LOVE IT!!!
