Creative Technology ZEN SLEEK (20 GB) MP3 Player

I am an anti-iPod type of person, who is willing to spend whatever it takes to stay away from Apple products. Having said this, the Creative Zen Sleek is an afordable MP3 player that also runs many other formats of music. Unlike the iPod, it looks... well, Sleek. It has brushed alluminum casing that is extreemly protective, even if all that breaks a fall is your basement's concrete, (believe me, i know). The Zen Sleek also has a few tricks up it's sleeve that an iPod doesnt. First of all it has a nifty smart sound option that keeps typically louder songs from blasting out your ears when you turn it on or when the song changes. It also can function as a USB Mass storage device, I have mine set up for 5 gigs. Some more tricks include: organizer, microphone, radio AM/FM, touchsensitive thumb pad, huge battery life, and customizable EQ. When you have thousands of songs to manage, and you're on a buget, then the Creative Zen Sleek is for YOU!

I am a proud Creative Labs consumer and will most likely be one for life!

geat player, easy to use, easy to transfer music to it, sounds great, all aroud its was a good deal for the mony in my opinion

I really like this mp3 player. The screen is nice and large, the controls are intuitive (I didn't even look at a manual, just started using it and it felt right), has nice sound quality and just feels good in your hand- the size is just right. The battery life seems to be ok. It's not the 16 hrs or whatever they advertise, but it is certainly sufficient to get you though a few days of jammin out. My only complaints:
1. the touch strip gets a little tricky sometimes when your fingers are sweaty or something like that. But probably no worse than the ipod touch controls.
2. you can't play music on it while it is plugged into your computer (unless I just haven't yet figured that out)
3. it very, very infrequently freezes up after unplugging it from the laptop (have to push in a staple or paperclip to have it reset itself - no data is lost though)
4. i didn't get it sooner!
This is a nice little gizmo and will make your walking around town/campus/the house pleasant.
oh, also the radio and mic work nicely, even though i don't have much use for thouse components!

Here's a sleek, sturdy MP3 player that is easy to use and great to look at. It seems that if you glance at the iPod wrong it gets all scratched up and tired looking. (I have friends that won't even take their iPod out of it's protective case for fear of it looking tattered and old as they frequently do.) Creative's brushed aluminum skin is durable and sleek. I would definitely recommend it for those who do not require video playback.

I love my Zen Sleek player. I thought about getting an Ipod until I came across the Creative Labs mp3 players. The great thing about this player is that you get 20gb for $200 (or less depending on where you purchase) where as if you were to get an IPod and spend this much money you would only get around 2-4gb (a big difference in storage space). The screen on the Zen Sleek is very clear and makes searching for songs and photos easy. I haven't had any problems with this player yet and think I really made a good choice.The Zen Sleek is a must have for any music lover on the go.

Very good value for your money. I went to the store to see the different models. My wife fell in love with the look of the iPod. They did not have the Sleek, but I decided to risk it because of the lower price, more features combination. When I finally got it and showed it to my wire she said: this one is nicer than the one we saw on the store...

It's a good mp3 player with great sound; the slide bar may be a little quirky but all in all it is the most bang for the buck in mp3 players

Its the best next thing to the ipod i think better with radio and storage for pics its great good for anybody who likes to listen to music

this was an excellent gift for my daughter she is able to use it for school to record class as well as photos and music.

This item was delivered in new condition and as advertised at a great price. Works well in my sync equipped car.

Large screen, durable little player. Slight difficulty in creating files and transferring MP3's. Large buttons for selections except middle slide is touchy!
It takes awhile to get used to this. If you're selecting a file for play it may pick the wrong one when your finger leaves the pad too soon. Would prefer a roller wheel for file selection. The look and feel of this player is high quality for sure! All in all great value for the money! a B+ Recomended!

It would work about 60% of the time with XP File Manager.
Was not recongnized by the Creative MP3 recovery tool. Would not load firmware updates. At your own risk!

I bought this unit for a backup and to put some of my special music on it. I listen almost exclusively to my other Creative Touch 40gb player. I recently put all my cd collection on a hard drive and use it to download into my player. I like the look and the feel of the Zen sleek.. it also has an FM radio. It works great with earphones or plugged into a car stereo or any other stereo. I use my 40 gb on my job plugged into a Bose wave radio and it sounds great.. Highly recommend Creative products for their durability, ease of use and lower price. It is easy to use with Windows Media Player. just plug the usb cable in and it instantly syncs. Then you can add or remove songs or artists as you please.

I love this thing!!!! I wanted something in an MP3 format so I wasn't trapped with Itunes. This unit does the trick. It is basically user friendly, and has great sound. I replaced a Rio Carbon with this, and the sound difference is amazing. the volume clicker is maybe a little sensative, but no worse than the wheel on the Ipod. The brushed aluminum front makes it look more durable, and adds a nice touch. The screen is very clear and vibrant, although I have few pictures on it, saving the space for more tunes. If I could change anything, it would be to do my music managment thru windows, as opposed to their software.

I really have fell in love with this mp3 player. It took me a week or so, but it turns out that it is much hardier than other mp3 players I have had. It is reliable. I know I can always count on it. I do wish that it was easier to delete photos, but that is really the only annoyance I find with it.

I love the simplicity of the device. Really a good way to go without paying out big bucks for an Ipod.

I bought this because i wanted a cheap alternative to the Ipods. This worked great and has not frozen on me once so far, which is a nice change from the Dell Jukebox that I tried...twice.
The only thing that i can think of that is a negative about this is that the scroll is VERY sensitive and that can be a pain sometimes. But on the whole this is a great MP3 player.

It is a good mp3 player for the money you get 20gb for $150 but it is not as easy as itunes trying to put your music on takes a lot longer but they have more choices for your music library. and some you dont have to pay 99 cents a song.
