The best computer speakers under $100.

This is a hefty little pair of speakers; you can feel they're solid just lifting them. They sit about the same height as the speakers that come with your desktop computer, but they deliver a lot bigger sound. It's the little touches that count. For example, using cloth in the tweeter and glass fiber in the midrange driver instead of the usual paper that most speakers are made of; the speakers won't start wearing down after a few years of weather and humidity.
Now with all that said, you don't exactly get thumping bass out of them. You get a good range of sound, but there's no magic subwoofer replacement inside. What you get: Two speakers, each with a tweeter and midrange driver built in and an opening to funnel out the deeper frequencies resonating inside the speaker boxes. You get the standard earphone-jack-style signal cable, separate AC to DC adapter that plugs into the back, and volume knob on the right speaker. You also get a couple nice touches: Bass and treble knobs, an earphone plug on the right speaker so you don't have to reach under the desk to plug in, and my favorite: An aux in jack, so you can drop your iPod on the table and plug it straight into the speakers without undoing them from your computer. And it looks classy; curved corners, charcoal gray, shiny. No square beige stain-absorbing box here.
I highly recommend these for the casual computer user. While not exactly a home audio system, they do make everything sound better. You can afford them. And they'll last.
Audiophiles, well, you might want to drop a thousand dollars on a better option.
